Gary Gygax, cocreator of the pen-and-paper game dungeons and dragons. the game that directly spawned Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights and influenced the entire RPG genre, has died at age 69. it is sad that he passed away and i post this out of respect for him. and in hopes he has moved on to a better place. this guy influenced what has become my favourite genre of  game to play. I still play d and d and  I am eagerly awaiting the 4.0 ed. due out this summer. but yeah I love rpgs I play jrpgs and the american ones its fun to go adventuring and seek out new quests and be a complete geek. so in his honour i'm going to gather up my ol' d&d pals and do one more quest.

R.I.P. Gary (one of the coolest last names ever.!) Gygax

Hmm, no fellow clerics or thieves here, man:P heh. No acne cream for you!

I saw this before and had no interest in it. Ive heard too many creepy stories behind the whole medium.

But, what I DID like was the imagination of fantasy characters and some of the artwork.

But, what I liked better were the books by Steve Jackson and Ian Worthington?(I forget his last name). They put out a series called Fighting Fantasy and Sorcery(which came with a spell book you needed if you played as a wizard/magic user). It was a cool series which I guess to some extent they have recreated? I have not purchased any yet. Sold my childhood collection ages ago. But, man, I miss those books. So inspiring. Deathtrap Dungeon and one about an outer space assassin were my favorites. Also, the third book of the Sorcery series "The Seven Serpents" was cool.

You could have just deleted your own comment and corrected that lil detail:P heh. Sounds interesting and yet I could care less about dark elves worshipping anything:P The spider queen does sound interesting, though(though I am torn between the intrigue and a fear of insects:P).
