 death: the final act.
"Death be not proud. Though some have called thee mighty and dreadful . for thou art not so." - Follow the Reaper by children of bodom.

What is death? its like the final act. When the curtians pull close. That's it. The end. The big show is over.

But..i think death is only a big deal because we make it so. Once you get past the actual fear of death..it really is not so bad.

I mean think about it. Everything dies. It like a natural cycle. Most people think death is a bad thing. But is it really? u need death to have life. So really..its just as important. Everything dies and everything lives. Tell me what u think

you listen to bodom too?! DAMN GIRL! NOW i'm impressed! ok, i was retty impressed after talkin to ya last night.

but yeah, death. necessary. i kinda wonder what death is like though. once the pain is over. and you slip into oblivion. does everything just END? like no feelings, no thoughts, nothing? how would that feel? like a system shut down. would you KNOW what's going on? or would it be something like, one minute you're talking and the other you go PLOP!

yeah. these are the questions that haunt us.

I think we get reincarnated into a new form of life! It would make sense why I have the inhanced instancts of a cat! LOL But seriously, reincarnation would complete the constant cycle of life and death. Depending on the things we did in our life has to do with what we come back as. My older sister believes she can tell by looking at our animal guardian spirits. If ya ever meet her, you should ask her! PS I'm going to be reincarnated as a wolf! ^-^

re-incarnation could make sense. yeah. but why doesn't that account for the complete memory loss of our last lives? why is our brain wiped clean? why do we start ALL over again? why do we have to re-learn everything? can u imagine how easy it would be to score in life if you already had the knowledge of a past life?! imagine one life you're a smart rocket scientist. and then you're born a baby again. and then u go through school! can u imagine how EASY that calculus would be?! you'd ace your SAT without even studying for a day!!!!!

They, or whoever, wipes our memory because if we already knew all that how, think how boring life would be. We would ace everything and there would be no fun! Our lives would have no meaning and then why would we even come back again if we already know everything important in life? Hmm......these are some very difficult questions....

i heard about this widdle kid who drew the whole titanic structur thing and everything was accurate. they thought he was the reincarnated arcatect of the ship.

whoah! about the kid.

and neko, imagine this, we spend one life learning the basics. we start with the 1,2,3s and the a,b,cs and we go through school and what not. and then we die. we still don't know the meaning of life and huge questions like that right? now when we are born again, if we already had the knowledge of the past, dont u think we could start developing newer technologies and thingies and start trying to answer those REALLY REAL questions? we'd be advancing like shit!
Posted by  Slash  on 2008-06-18 23:30:26

Well, true, but i already know the meaning of life! Our entire existince is all about love....We are born, we fall in love, and then we reproduce. It is a constant cycle. We are the only species that can love, sure other species can reproduce, but we are the only ones that can truly love one another. Just a thought...

you dont know that for sure. Animals are capable of love too. i think we make our own perpose. we have none until we make one.

it can't all JUST be about reproducing! come on! whats the point of just existing? the fascination comes in the difference between man and animal. if man was nothing more than an animal, then we wouldn't be living in the world of today. there would be no need to CREATE. to ask questions and to answer them. if we just had to live and DO IT all the time, then we'd still be happy living in caves!

man is different, yes, because of the emotions that man can feel. but that is not what drives him to create. that is another aspect entirely. why we keep creating things and changing our lives is whats interestng. hundred years ago people used to laugh at the idea of planes. what do u think about teleportation in the future? its impossible science right? WRONG. its possible. the technologies haven't been thought of yet and the stepping ladder to that level of greatness is slowly being achieved day by day.

my logic is, any concept that man can imagine/think of, man will eventually be able to create. it may take him a few hundred thousand years to, but any idea that you or i have CAN POSSIBLY exist. and it will one day! we're probably not going to be around to see it, but people will...

anyway, the point is, if life's purpose was so simple, then we wouldn't be complicating things so much. we'd eat, sleep, poop, do it and die! i think there's something deeper. some questions that remain unanswered. some secrets kept locked away and covered up by the illusions of religion. those are the answers i desperately seek. even though its a futile waste of my time, those are the questions that drive me.

Slash i think you have a point, but what happens when we make computers and other technology too smart? they will eventually have the ability to overthrow us. like on Irobot and stuff. they will think there is a problem with man (which there is) but they will handel it the wrong way.
i know i sound all SiFi-ish :)

Death is intriguing yeah n sometimes pretty scary too. But like everyone said, It's sort of...necessary. I don't know about the ultimate answer and stuff but I do believe what goes around, comes around in one way or the other. Just a thought.!:)
