 Book Review... no, seriously!
I read the best book the other day.  I've always loved to read, but I don't really have much time anymore.  What time I do have I don't want to spend reading a crappy book, so I just don't read until I find a book that really looks great!  So, my mom gave me a stack of books last week and I looked through, picked a couple that looked promising... and they sucked.  I was a little wary of reading any more of them, but I decided to give this one a chance.  And I LOVED it.  I'm not into romances at all.  To me, romance is crap.  All the boy meets girl, stuff happens, and they live happily ever after... crap, pure crap.  If I want to read sex scenes, which (let's face it) is all most women are reading anyway, I will read erotica.  Thank you.  Sex, more sex, end of story.  That's realistic.  So, anyway, technically this book would probably fall into the catergory of historical romance, (which sounds really cheesy, I know) but it is a great story about a woman who believes that she is just as good as men in God's eyes.  It's set in the 1200s, which threw me off at first, but after you get through the prologue, it's definitely worth reading.  I was horrible upset when I finished it because I didn't want the story to be over.  I love books where the characters stick with you, and this one was great for that.  Now I need a sequel.
Really, read it!   It's Saving Grace by Julie Garwood.

The blurb on the back reads:
When Lady Johanna learned that she was a widow, she vowed she would never marry again.  Only sixteen, she possessed a strength of will that impressed all who looked past her golden-haired beauty.  Yet when King John demanded that she remarry--and selected a bridegroom for her--it seemed she must acquiese, until her beloved foster brother suggested she wed his friend, the handsome Scottish warrior Gabriel MacBain.

At first Johanna was shy, but as Gabriel tenderly revealed the splendid treasures they would share, she came to suspect that she was falling in love with her gruff new husband.  And it was soon apparent to the entire Highlands clan that their brusque, gallant laird had surrendered his heart completely.  But now a desperate royal intrigue threatened to tear her from his side--and to destroy the man whose love meant more to her than she had ever dreamed.

Yes, it sounds really corny.  But it's funny and great!  My favorite part of the whole book was the wedding of Johanna and Gabriel, because she is supposed to promise to love, honor and obey and has no trouble letting her new husband know that she will NOT obey him.

Seriously, read the book.

Everybody's different. I like reading military and espionage thrillers from authors like Tom Clancy, Alistair MacLean, and Jack Higgins.

Good to know that you found a book you really enjoyed. It's hard to find that one book that sticks with you.

I read alot, and I was just wondering if you ever read Trinity by Leon Uris. It is a really great book, a sweeping epic of historical fiction and romance. I think you will really enjoy it.

She sounds a lot like the author Jude Deveraux, she writes about stuff like that.. taken back centuries and you fall in love with the characters and you hate for the books to be over.
