Well... hi. :)

Hi Cory, How's it going? My names Sharn and I live in Australia, I'm 56 years old, live alone (although I have a 25 year old son who sometimes blesses me with his company for diner - then stays overnight) when he is not here I feed his fish and look after his dog. ;-)

It goes well, I suppose. Could be worse. Could always be worse.

That's funny that you take care of his fish.

I'm 24, from New Orleans, feel alone, and have hopes of one day escaping this country.

It's nice to meet you, Sharn. ^_^

Cory his fish are easy. His staffie Junior is hard work, because when Matt is not here Junior is a big sook, and I have to take him to work with me, which is totally disruptive to all, he is worse than a child and demands constant attention from everyone.

Very little work gets done and it's my fault.

It's nice to meet you too Cory :-)

Where do you work? Must be a cool job if they allow you to bring a dog with you to work.

PS, I collect strays, Junior turned up on my front steps one day, he was micro chipped and belonged to a neighbour who had died, it took us a month to encourage him inside and now that he totally trusts us both Matt and I are his best friends, he even loves my 19 year old cat.

19 year old cat?! Wow. Just wow.

I have 2 dogs; both are pitbull and labrador mixes. They're both affectionate, albeit annoying and they chew EVERYTHING up. Don't leave anything on the floor if you plan on keeping it.

Cory, if I may step in and ask how is New Orleans today? Is the life back in the city, as before? Do you see it getting better?
Posted by  cabinfever  on 2009-11-07 04:05:17

People don't realize that New Orleans sucked ass BEFORE Hurricane Katrina. It's pretty much the way it was before the hurricane. When people come here, they're like "Wow, this place is so slow to recover. Stuff is still messed up and this city is crappy.", but really, it's the same as it ever was.

This is sad to hear, because Americana is fading fast. And New Orleans was a major part of it. America is still beautiful, but the values are changing fast, and not for the better. We can only hope for a turn around soon, back to the self supporting country we can be, when the companies we made great realize it; and politicians wake up.

With out manufacturing we can suport ourselves. Manufacturing is going away fast. 20 years from now we will be helpless.
