| Spirits |
I've been thinking about spirits and "ghosts" lately. In my faith we believe that as Samhain approaches the veil between this world and the Otherwold grows thin and spirits of the dead, ancestors, etc. can more easily come through to communicate with us. This week it was my turn to come up with the concept for a ritual that each member of our coven will do on their own -- I chose to focus on either meditating on our ancestors/departed family and friends and the gifts they've given us, or being open to any messages the dead may have for us.
I know that probably sounds weird/scary to many people, but I don't believe that spirits are naturally harmful. If we approach them with respect, they can be sources of comfort and wisdom.
