Walk to happiness
A week or so ago I had planned to go into New York so just walk around and take pictures.  Other things grabbed at me and I was bummed that I could not go but KP said to just pick another day and go, rain or shine.  So I did just that and went today
Thanks baby for the advice
I walked from 33rd street all the way to 86th.
Walked through Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Central Park, saw many things in the city that I had never seen.  Anyone knows that if you go to NYC everyday of your life you will see new things all the time.
I lit a candle, actually 2, at St Patricks Cathedral for KP.
I know why they ask for donations per candle, but it felt weird to have to pay to do that.  And 2$ per candle is a bit much.
But if it makes KP healthy I would have paid all I have per candle.
KILL THE BULL
But I mean more that I visited spots I had not seen and took some pictures that I will maybe post here.
The Central Park was good in that I saw alot of things that renewed my spirit.  Little kids, with their parents and with people that were obviously nannies.  Had a great lunch and joked around with this cute little kid Sean in the place where I had this great chicken salad sandwich.  He was 3 and smart and full of life.
For alot of reasons  I needed to feed the soul  and this was  a banquet that reminded me about what life was about, that hope lives, that maybe many of the little things people have said here and in my "real" life that I need to get out and start living my life despite the wife.
Maybe the image of Central Park fit the day, aplace of serenity and beauty and peace and solice in the middle of craziness and business.
Had a good day, feet hurt, but it is a good hurt

I am glad that you had a great day, I hope now you will see that all the other stuff that prevented you from going before, was silly to worry about.

Your post lifted my spirits. Today was just one of those lonely days that found my spirit in a sad state of mind, much like the rain that fell against my window pane most of the day. I have never been to New York City, but for some reason it feels familiar and intrigues me. Maybe I lived there in another life. A strange way of explaining my feeling, but no other explanation comes to mind. I would love to visit someday, although have no desire to drive there.

Years ago when I was on Mackinaw Island I lit a candle, in a very old church, for a friend I wanted to get to know better. God heard my prayers and a lasting friendship ensued. I hope God will answer your prayer as well for KP.

I'm glad you spent the day doing something for yourself. Thanks for sharing your day. Hearing about NYC or seeing pictures always makes me feel peaceful inside.

Peace.

I always had a thing for wanting to go to New York. I felt drawn to the name, to the place. of course then I didn't know that David lives in New York - thats the name of the district of Newcastle he lives in! Spooky eh? Still...I would love to go to the Big Apple. Near to where I live is a Nature Reserve, with a huge lake in the middle and I go there sometimes to think and just...be. Days like that can really renew the spirit. Glad you enjoyed it. xxx
