| The hole on the sides are more useful |

This post may sound weird given the fact I post 2 or 3 times a day on here but....
Yesterday I was reading an article about the fact that it has been two years since Justice Clarence Thomas of the US Supreme Court had asked a question during oral arguements. For anyone who is not familiar, the way that the court works the lawyers stand before the 9 justices, they present the case, then the 9 justices ask questions.
It seems that Justice Thomas has not had one in 2 years and refuses to really talk about why this is.
The reason I bring this up is that it seems that people have decided that talking gets them more information than listening. I have a person that I supervise that will do a 20 minute talk to ask what time is it. And after she is done she will then keep going to talk more, shame is that 5 minutes later she needs to ask the same question.
Why?
Because she was so busy talking she never listened to the answer and let it soak in.
Maybe Justice Thomas listens, hears the answers to any questions he has given as answers to ther questions and does not feel it is important to waste time asking the same question again, with his slight variation, only so that someone hears his voice.
Maybe he thinks and does not talk
Maybe he has decided that the two holes on the side of his head are better imput devices than the big hole in the front
I remember a time when silence was golden
Now it seems to be a sign that you are not smart
Yet so many more people seem so less informed in this age of the talking head
