| Just when I thought all was lost....

There are times when I think that the future is bleak
Kids today seem selfish
While all the "legends" from the "good ole days" had clay feet, the mixture that we seem to be using is less solid these days and the Marilyn Monroes and James Deans and Nancy Siniatras are replaced by Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and L. Lohan.
I read a report the other day that states that most American kids can not say what century we fought the Civil War, or who Groucho Marx is, or why we fought in WW II
Then from a place known for self centered inbred morons, the Royal Family of England, with big mental health issues comes hope!
I tip my hat to Prince Harry of England
The kid has class and honor and is a credit to his title !
Thank God he seems in many ways more like his Uncle Andrew than his dad. A randy guy, having fun in life....but that is not the good news...
His uncle fought in the Falklands during that....situation which I can hardly call a war but he went.
This kid Harry is on the front lines in a real war!!!
The guy is in Afhganistan!!!
He is not hiding in London or in some prep school !!!!
He is shoulder to shoulder with his men and has been for three months!!
If you can't tell I am impressed !
His great garandmother and great grandfather could have ran during the blitz of London but they stayed and endured with their people.
Harry, you would have made them proud !
And from all indications his brother is not too bad either.
Lizzy, give up the throne and let these two guys run the show, even if it is just a figurehead in essence, they are stand up guys!

Hi whiteknight
i like your coments about our royal family. i read an article in one of our national newspapers that no one is allowed to mention the queen abdicating around her.
One of the things i love about being english our history and traditions.

I gotta say...there's really only ever been three members of the Royal family I have been particularly fond of - William and Harry and the Queen Mother - okay, she was a bit of a drunk and liked a gamble, but boy did she live her life and she always made me giggle. I read somewhere once that at a family dinner she had the kids in hysterics doing an 'Ali G' impression.
As for Harry...I think what he's done is great. He had to fight beaurocracy to be allowed to fight in the army and its wonderful that he did it when he could've hid behind a desk. Gooo Harry!!!!

I saw it on the news here and was really releieved to know that even though thier mother was taken away so abruptly she was given the opportunity to instill a beautiful legacy in them!
