Ok Well before I make this a mini series lets see if I can wrap up the IPOD stuff: Ok well there is a few Blues Brothers tunes. Rubber Biscuit, Soul Man, Sweet Home Chicago, Everybody needs someone to love, Gimmie Some Lovin … in there that are there because in some small secret way I would love to come back to life as John Belushi. The man was one of those people the just never fully got how great he was or could have been. I even love the movie that many think is one of his worst Continental Divide and I even quote it at times and use phrases from it that people look at me and wonder what the hell I am talking about (i.e. his character’s last name is Sushack and he calls the way he writes things down “Sushack shorthand” I have more than once said that and got looks like what in the hell am I talking about…like now)….Holiday Road from National Lampoons Vacation is there because it reminds me of every road trip I ever took…Simply the Best by Tina Turner, love that song and reminds me of every time a team I root for one, it is a love song and I think of KP at times when I hear it…Werewolves of London, Excitable Boy by Warren Zevon are just fun , however I also have Keep me in your heart for awhile which may be the saddest song ever written as it was song written and sung by a man who knew he was dying and he simply wants to make sure he is not forgotten when he dies. I love the idea that you get to say good bye before you go and it reminds me of every person I ever knew that died….Slow Dancing, Breathe (which KP added by request)Feels Like Forever, Some one like You, Downtown train, Can’t Help falling in Love w/ you, All I have, All I ask of You are all songs that I think fall into one area. I have saved up all my love and tried to show it to my wife. My wife really never really was able to accept all that love. I saved up so much and all I hope is that KP can be that person..she is able to but I hope life lets her be that person for me…add in True Companion in that area but I separate this out as it has the great line “When I leave this earth, I will be w/ the angel standing, stand there waiting for my true companion” I hope that if the worst happens she will wait for me. She is my True Companion…..Leap of Faith and Lone Star Blues by Dilbert McClinton, not sure why I like his stuff but I like that stuff. Faith of the Heart by Rod Stewart inspires me and I love that Star Trek used it as a theme…I loved her 1st and Into the Mystic are songs I heard at weddings that I was at and loved the songs so I added them. The first one makes me pine even more for the idea that I really want a daughter to dance w/ as her dad at her wedding. If you are looking for a great song to dance w/ your dad w/ at your wedding listen to it. OK DONE, but what did this all mean??? I am not sure I guess that I love KP, that I like to be silly, that I like Bruce and Billy Joel and The Blues Brothers and that maybe sometimes a cigar is just a cigar and sometimes songs are on your Ipod just because you like them…although I am sure some of these had/have deeper meaning and if anyone wants to comment feel free.
