Gwatlan:My fathers did that end of things, but more about choices and that stuff. My father I think has the inability to say the word SEX LOL

Posted in Birds and the Bees on 2008-02-28 19:56:20
Want a laugh: My mother decided to give me the sex part of THE TALK...my father did more the responsibility and drugs nd drinking part, mainly I think because Mom was a little more comfortable saying the word "sex" than my father is... any way I am not sure how comfortable mom was either, as the talk consisted of her walking in while I was watching TV in their bedroom...grow up w/ all those brothers and sister and you not only want to get away because they are noisy but because you want to watch something other than kiddie shows at 13 or so... Any way I was in their room on their bed watching TV sitting at the end...my mother walks in, asks me to turn off the set, which i do... She looks at me and asks"Do you have any questions about what me and dad do in here?"(...trust me since I have become older I have wanted that chance back, the funny lines I have thought of since...)I said no, she said ok and walked out after saying if I did she was ready to answer...

Was on the FOX network. From what I hear they are doing one more episode this upcoming week and then reassessing the show. From what I hear the producers really grew a soul and almost did not air the episode that made all this talk, as they saw that the woman may be destroying her life on national TV

I have always thought that some people can buy off the rack, and some need custom made when it comes to marriage. Problem is knowing which one you are. I always saw myself as a custom made, I bought off the rack and.....well I am looking for the receipt now

Well, I will maybe fill in a few facts that are lacking in your analysis: -Most belived that the first woman or black would come from the right. They were wrong, at least in one case it seems, BUT there have been a few women that the right wing of that party would have elected had age not been an issue. IE Jean Kirpatrick is a great example I personally would vote for Gen Powell in a second, or Clarence Thomas. Neither will run but they are both respected Republicans. -When you are in a two party system that only gave either of those groups the vote less than a 100 years ago, it takes time. Only 2 people every four years...when you have 4 or 5 or 10 parties, then you have more chance. -Do not be stunned if McCain picks a certain woman from Texas as his VP. And unlike Walter Mondale who did his VP pick as a gimmick in a dieing campaign, McCain has a shot. So maybe juuuusssttt maybe the first woman President will be a Republican and if MCCain wins, who knows, maybe the first minority President too in 4 years

Posted in Questions About The American Primaries on 2008-02-27 12:08:54
1) He will never get to be President for one reason. Like anything in this world, we love to build up people to tear them apart and once he is up there as the nominee, let the tearing begin. And I do not mean the right, I mean everyone 2)That is McCain's weakness and it will come out and maybe destroy his ability to win also. 3)She will stay negative to the fine line where it destroys her future. She has a few futures, one as the next Ted Kennedy: a long serving Senator that is the voice of the left that could have been President had tings been different 2) Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, John McCain, a loss now but returns to try again one day. Too negative and she kills that

OK OK I give, maybe I was wrong. It just was that I thought that he could have looked a bit better for little money, but if the overwhelming majority feels I am wrong, I give.

Posted in Define (excess) Baggage ... on 2008-02-26 07:46:15
Ok, I will weigh in: Many guys see kids as baggage, and they are wrong. Kids are a great addition to life and are only an issue if the ex is going to make life hard by being unrealiable about taking them and that kind of stuff, but if you have PLAN B when you need it(like you two have a great romantic weekend planned and the jerk calls on Friday to say he can't take the kids...have a friend as a back up) As for emotional. well I get a sense you have moved on from the ex. So that would not be an issue, but some might think it is. They are wrong in your case. Men have baggage too, the cheerleader that said no, the exwife that left, the woman that said you stunk as a lover...so do not think that you are the only gender that does, and men need to remember that.

Posted in Forget About Africa on 2008-02-23 10:41:55
Well, beyond the human side...and trust me I am a right wing conservative, but even I see that you need to care for the human race. I forget the exact quote but someone once said that the death of any one person diminishes us all. Beyond that BIG point, there is the practical. You help these people, maybe they do not hate us, and we have less enemies. Yes, we could do EVERYTHING for some facets of this world and they might still blow us up, but a few millions now might save billions, and lives later

Posted in How did the old folks do it? on 2008-02-23 08:21:55
oh forgot one" 6)The older generation in many cases made it look easy in some cases They made it look like you meet someone, fall in love, marry them, have kids, and the Walt Disney puts the end credits on your life. They protected us kids, they tried not to argue when we were around, they gave us a "false" picture. Not their fault... BUT They gave us a picture that we thought was true, again in trying to protect us, and when we do not live happily ever after we leave

Posted in How did the old folks do it? on 2008-02-23 08:16:03
Yes, open your heart to the idea As for how the older generations did it, I think it is a few factors: 1)Divorce was SO taboo that they may have stayed thru times that we don't and saw it through to the other side. This may sound like I am saying that they did not quit as easy, but.... 2)They stayed thru those times, and resigned themselves. Not me, but many people have become adults only to find out that dad cheated and mom forgave, or dad beat mom, or mom and dad lived in a loveless marriage.... 3)Men left, women didn't....back when divorce was more a thing that men did TO their wives. Now both sides do it 4)The educated woman, which is sort of 3#. There are few "little woman at home" wives left 5)Yes, we are more selfish. People do treasure "happiness' above all else.s is good and bad

Yes she should be respectful but if I have this right, he asked for it! Posted in She/he is not my type....a question on 2008-02-21 14:44:33
Ok, I know I am going to get killed on this, but here goes: Remember, I said that it is a type of women (or for ladies man) that you know is objectively attractive, but that does nothing for you. I have never found African American woman to be my type. Name any one of them, and while I see a lovely woman that men drool over, they do nothing for me. Hispanic women also. I know I am going to hear cries of prjudice, but it is not that at all, they just do not push the buttons in me that says WOW

Yes but shy is not the opposite of confident. I know it seems like the worst thing, especially today, but in a week, a month, a year, you will not even care that Jill or John said they would not go out with you. But that you love them anyway now, is a great act of love. Sorry if I was a lil off topic but thought the kids needed to hear that.

I KNOW we will make it all the way back and higher for one reason, greed. Someone will figure out a new way to make money and start new buisnesses here. Also, no large buisness will allow this country fall. The British Empire was built on all that old tradition, Lords and Earls and such..it made it unweilding...great part about being a younger country is that we have none of that. Yes we have the rich and powerful, but in 1980 Bill Gates was a schlub in a garage, now he is richer than all those old families, that keeps us flexible

He is a dope, he is an ass, so simply do this... 1)he needs to tell the kids when he is and is not coming on his scheduled days and they will tell you, 2)The wedding is simple, or maybe it is, I get a sense the Mom in law likes you...get her involved. Let her set him straight. You do not need to be a mommy's boy to snap to when mom says something, trust me. 3)You have plans, he pulls the disappearing act, get a sitter and bill him 4)Tape your calls and your talks, sounds severe but he is going to lie, catch him And be strong, you desreve better than this jerk

First you need to stop thinking he can hurt you. He did the worst he can do already. Second, the kids: as bad as this sounds, let them meet the new woman, do not bad mouth her. Why? because if you do he will use that to make you look like bad mommy that does not like daddy's new friend and hates daddy. The nicer you are the less he has to work w/ in that area. Make it like climbing a glass cliff for him . Third:You are a great woman that is loved and will again find a man. Know that and feel that and act that. If you are weak he may sense that weakness and use it against you when things get legal. .... Frankly I feel weird giving this advice in that my wife is you in a sense. However the difference is that I sense her weakness and it makes me less attracted to her, yes, but it does not make me see that I can manipulate her should it become that when KP gets well.

Posted in Marriage on 2008-02-04 14:15:27
Ok, I am a lil confused here so i will give two answers: 1)If you are saying he was a perfectly fine guy pre-mom and now is this baby boy in a 20's body, then mom needs to go bye bye. 2)If he is this way from the start and just got worse w/ mom then this is simple. You go to mom and explain that her lil boy needs tough love and you will give it to him and that if mom gets in the way then she can go with him and they can live like a married couple in some pig stye while you find a man. Then simply do your 50 percent. Don't do his!! Do not let mom doe his! You do yours and he will either leave w/ mom, stay and get better or just sit and a corner and rot. I know it may get rough, but do it. I hate men like this as they give men a bad name.

Posted in Defining Ourselves & Views on Marriage on 2008-02-03 10:47:48
Well I will answer question 3#: Marriage is great if you find the right woman or man. And men control little in marriage as men do not at all control the exit. How can you control something if the other party has MUCH more power in a major aspect of it? Women RULE over divorce. Men are the bad guys there. Ok what the heck. Yes normal is overrated as the abnormal make the changes in the world. And what defines a person is set by the definer: I may see someone as a bad person because they are gay or black, or divorced, or an ex-con or whatever, you may not. What is a noble act to you may be the act of a fool to me.

Posted in The Tainting of Love on 2008-02-03 10:37:47
One of my greatest fears, the fear that I also know KP has for my wife also, is that my wife will be your dad. Waiting for me to come back, crushed that she thought she found love and it left, never letting her life moving on, becoming an old woman long before her time. I so torn...while you must live life for you, you must also sort of live life with the idea that you made choices and that if you want to change those choices you need to put things back in a way that your presence there was not harmful.

Posted in Can the strength of friendship be stronger than lo on 2008-02-03 10:31:18
Friendship is often stronger for this reason, you can get rid of friends easier. Sounds backwards but listen...You are married, you now have to go through a bunch of legal stuff to get this person out of your life so many times you coast thru bad times when if they were easier to get rid of you would. " I stay for the kids"....a friend you choose to keep. I never had to go to a judge or a lawyer to get rid of a friend..friends do not want alimony...friends are there because you want them to stay and they want to stay.

The problem is that WE are in an enlightened age, the western world...the people who we are fighting are not!!! Listen, if we could get the information we need to protect us by saying "pretty please w/ sugar on it" we would. But that seems not to work. I have done alot of reading and it seems that, and do not take this the wrong way as you can see by the fact that I keep reading you that I am not so offended I stop reading/responding, Canada's people seem to be very critical of the US lately. I wonder frankly if the CN Tower was brought down and it collapsed into the former SkyDome full of CFL fans would they feel the same?? I can not remember the exact quote but someone one once said something on the order of the best way to make a liberal an conservative is to mug him.
