When I made my last post decisions I was at the library of my alumni TJC.  This is where I'm making my current post.  While I was posting the post I a complete stranger asked me for some change to buy a soda.  I was caught off guard and explained that I did not have any change.  The guy said okay and proceeded to walk away.  Then something told me you have a dollar in your pocket.  I reached into my pocket and called for the guy to return.  I explained to him that I only had a dollar but he could have it.  He was thankful and stated "God Bless You."  After the giving I finished my post and thought nothing more of the dollar.

Today, on my way to the library I stopped at the car wash.  When I looked on the ground I found two dollars wrapped in a receipt.  The money must was dropped by a previous customer.  When I read the receipt two dollars was the change.  The situation made me think of the dollar that I'd previously given to the guy who wanted a drink but did not have any money.  Somehow the event reminded me that many people are living without and do not have.  Somehow I knew that dollar given was truly appreciated.  How about a return on your investment.

With the economy in such a roar one must diversify assets because the knowing of what will return the most is difficult, at best.  Yesterday, we attended an Obama rally with the feature speaker Forest Whitaker.  The event was much like the McCain event I attended; however, the crowd was more enthuiastic.  The event was good in my eyes and after the event we waited patiently for some autographs.  Since the only paper i had on me at the time was a dollar bill, I asked Mr. Whitaker to autograph my dollar.  As we departed the event someone asked about selling it on ebay.  I thought no, I'll just add it to my other millionaire autographs.  I have a couple: Josh Howard, Darvin Ham, Devin Harris, and Rick Smits.

Today, my sons and I attended an Obama rally with the feature speaker Michelle Obama.  Yes, I checked the boys out of school and we rode three deep in the Civic to UT Tyler for the event.  This event was even better than the day before.  The background of the Obama's is felt even more in person.  I know I was not the only one who felt this way.  The crowd would have a few "ya, ya's, and "tell it, tell it's" in the background.  I give Mrs. Obama credit, she can work a crowd, man.  Although we were not able to stay for the entire event, we were able to stay for the majority of heart felt campaign.

There was class about her that was not felt was previous campaigns that I've attended in the past.  There was no mention of specific candidates.  The heart was felt through the stories of her father and Obama's grandparents.  The situation they have endured is similar to what many Americans endure today.  I give the nod to the Obama camp for remaining professional during a time of adversity.  I also attended a prior McCain event, just because I attended a McCain campaign does not mean that I support his views.  I planned to attend all of the events hosted in Tyler; however, there have been only two candidates to date.

Lets Barack the Vote!
