 A Time (i)
As I entered the gas station on Sunday I was greeted with a hello from a patron in line.   I was then asked the routine questions that arise from extended relatives of a small town.  I waited in line, but before I could pay for  gas I was embraced with a hug from Gail who had just finished paying for her purchase.  Before we embraced I saw the concern and worry on her face.  It looked as if she had been crying or wanted to.  I speculated about the reasons for the worry and I decided it was the events of the past week.

On Saturday, 1/19/2008, I learned a second suspect was involved in the shooting who turned himself in to authorities.  His name, Demarcus Lydia, cousin of the original suspect.  The dynamics of the incident have increased.
  1. Another brother behind bars
  2. Family members of the victim hurt
  3. Family members of the suspects hurt (i.e. Gail)
  4. Additional children that will be fatherless
Being from a small town an incident like this devestates everyone.  Somehow we are all related, therefore everyone has lost.  I pray for the families of all; God is still able to turn a negative into a positive.  It hurts but God is able to take away the pain.

It's very sad. Just continue to help those you can, the Lord will make a way.
