| Only 20 minutes to go .......
|
|
|
I am proud to announce that in just 20 minutes, I will officially be complaint free for my first full 24 hours!!!!!!
Woo hoo!!!!!
Not an easy task, as some of you who are participating in this AMAZING CHALLENGE well know!
Highlights of the Week Include:
The WGIRLSNYC Social Event for July
Had a GREAT time at the WGIRLSNYC Midsummer's Nights Dream show. So much fun to see all of the girls enjoying the show. Drinks afterwards were a blast! It is safe to say however NO ONE left that table without moving their bracelet at least 6 times!!!! (Word of caution: Girlfriends, drinks, and talking Hollywood and men, is not an amateur bracelet wearing activity!!!!!!) None of us left unscathed!!!!!!
We did however manage to make up some new rules:
1) YOU ARE ALLOWED TO GOSSIP ABOUT CELEBS. It is a victimless crime that allows you to vent without personally insulting anyone!
2) YOU ARE ALLOWED TO CRITQUE A PIECE OF ART, THEATER, TV SHOW, ETC. For example, some people enjoyed the play more than others. It sparked a good conversation about the skills and attributes (NO COMMENT RW!!!!) of the actors.
The Billy Joel Concert:
Awesome experience: While others around me lamented about the heat, I really focused on staying super positive. Yes, it was 97 degrees and Mr. Joel was clad in a black suit with a wet towel draped over his head for most of the concert (think heavyweight champion style), but History was being made! It was the last musical performance to ever play at Shea. Garth Brooks, Steven Tyler, Tony Bennett, Roger Daltry and Sir Paul McCartney all showed up to send off Shea Stadium and support their friend Billy. It was incredible. Too bad, I had already switched the bracelet earlier that day at work....I blurted out that a process was a complete pain in the A**. I immediately regretted it but alas it was too late. DRATS…..foiled again
So rumor has it (NOT THAT I AM GOSSIPING) that a few of you have thrown in the bracelet so to speak. Hmmmmm???? Really? At this point I would like to encourage anyone who is floundering to keep up with it, and anyone who has given up (On themselves) to really re-consider.
I can’t begin to tell you the impact this exercise is having on my life. I find myself smiling in the strangest situations....Situations I would have typically gone postal over or at the very least spoken in WHINESE (My BF's loving term for my complaining)
Speaking of which, A certain someone gave up early after day 2 of the challenge but has since, after gentle nudging, seen the light. After spending the weekend together, he went to work this morning donning his bracelet!!!!! I am really proud of him that he did not give up.
I can tell you this that sharing this experience with someone who is close to you can make the process a bit more fun. At least you can laugh at one another. To that end, I will bring extra bracelets on Wednesday for friends, siblings, significant others, etc.
With Love and Luck,
A
