So...not pregnant.
But in other news, we are planning on buying a house this fall. Hooray! And then we'll worry about babies after that.
Also in other news...Sunday night, Rob and I went out to Beluga Point. As we were walking down the hill to get across the tracks, he fell face first into the rocks. He didn't black out, but he did hit his head. So we struggle him back up the hill and into my car, where luckily I had both of our EMT kits and an additional first aid kit. I bandaged him up as best I could and took his vitals...then called the nurse hotline at Providence. The nurse I talked to recommended that we go into the ER ASAP. So we did.
We ended up in the "Urgent Care" clinic, since he hadn't blacked out and was aware of his surroundings. While we were there, he seemed to be doing just fine, and the doctor was pleased with my handiwork (Go me!) so they gave him a tetanus shot and sent us on our way, with instruction to return if he threw up or the headache increased.
Then yesterday morning, he wakes up with a bigger headache, and I give him a couple Aleve, like the doctor had said was ok. Not long after, Rob threw up...twice. So I called the number that had been given to us to get a regular doctor, and after getting a few, decided it would be better and faster to hit the ER again. He got sick again while we were there. They gave him an IV to get him hydrated and a push of Zofran (yes, the anti-nausea drug they give cancer patients...) and maybe something for the pain. They did a CT scan and x-rays, all of which came back just fine. So the ER doc gave us some prescriptions for the Zofran and Hydrocodone and sent us on our way. Last night he was doing better again...
Which brings us to the new stuff...
Until this morning, when apparently his head hurt so badly that the pain caused him to throw up, regardless of the Zofran. So I took him in to see a regular doctor this afternoon, and we were given a prescription for a stronger dose of a different pain killer. I'll pick that one up tomorrow morning and hopefully he'll be feeling better by then anyway. For now, he's sleeping on the couch and I'm feeding him chicken noodle soup when he's up to it.
We were out there because I wanted to burn the letters I'd written to Robbie, detailing my feelings and frustrations with him for yanking his friendship from me. I kind of exploded at him via text message that afternoon, and he finally talked it out with me, and said he couldn't be my friend any more. Part of me is still refusing to accept that, but you know. Go figure...we go out there so I can seriously start the healing process, and my husband gets seriously injured. It's been a tough couple of days, but our families and friends have been really great. I've pretty much just been doing the "one hour at a time" kind of living to make it through. I'm surprisingly good at handling personal/family emergencies.
