I practiced Judo when I was a Junior high school student. Therefore I will explain Judo.
Judo is one of the Japanese traditional sports. It was invented in 19th century. Kano Zigorou made Judo. The word, “Ju” means gentleness, softness and suppleness and “do” means way. Thus Judo means the way of softness. Mr. Kano saw Judo as a mean for improving oneself mentally, physically and morally.
We are very serious when we are practicing Judo or fighting. However, we concern about avoiding injury. We respect the opponents and be polite.
Judo has a weight classes rule. But even smaller person can beat the bigger person. “Juu yoku gou wo seisu” means softness overcome hardness.
Judo is very interesting. If you are interested in Judo, let’s talk!
