Yesterday started off with a couple of indulgences -- two pieces of French toast and a sausage. Not the best start, but we get free food at work on Fridays, and it's pretty hard to resist breakfast goodies. However, I avoided some of the sweets that were out there, like sweet buns and donuts, so I guess it's better than I usually would have done.
However, I have been following the advice at www.weightloss-wellness.com about eating 0-5 and eating small portions regularly, so after that breakfast food I managed to stop before filling up. Mid-morning I had some dark-chocolate covered raisins -- fruit and chocolate that's good for you!
For lunch, I went to the salad place and had a nice spinach salad with craisins and toasted pepperoni. The pepperoni isn't the best way to have a healthy salad, but the dressing was a vinaigrette, so I hope it balances out.
I actually stayed full from the salad, so I managed not to snack for the rest of the day. Then, for dinner I went to an Indian restaurant and had a chicken vindaloo with white-meat chicken and a curry sauce. Though I did break down and have a piece of nan - yum! - it's a flatbread and not a white-and-fluffy bread, so it wasn't too bad.
All in all, not a bad start. I doubt I'll be able to eat a salad every day for lunch, but at least there won’t be tempting breakfast foods all the time... |
