| Alligators, Geese, and Sandy's Visit
|

Dear Aunt Jimmer,
My sister Sandy has been here visiting this week--escaping the heat of Phoenix. We took the girls swimming at Heise and then had their excellent pizza. Sandy and I talked about old times. Then we visited dad's grave in Ririe. Our names are on the back under a rose--Sandy, Lynn, Vickie, David, and Don. Breezy liked the pond picture on the headstone. My mom and dad made their own fish pond--mom still keeps it going--sometimes we feel dad's presence there. He died in October 1997.
We visited David Thursday and made an amazing discovery of three alligators living at a hot springs near Twin Falls, Idaho. They came over to have their pictures taken—seemed to enjoy the company. Thousand Springs and Shoshone Falls are absolutely beautiful. We also spent some time walking the greenbelt. Today geese had congregated and were slowing down traffic by the river.
Neil smoked a pork roast Sat. in the electric smoker he received for his birthday--used apple chips. We had family over for dinner. I made baked beans, corn, scalloped potatoes, a green salad, and a fruit salad for sides-yummy food. I’m working on an article on love of greenbelts—comparing ours with Stratford and Hyde Park in London. School starts in a month. I’ve been lazily recharging—hope I’m ready in August.
Best,
Vickie
