| this day |
Today we will all be going up to mom's old house to bbq either before or after the kids go trick or treating. I cannot wait to see the kids dressed up for Halloween. My 16 year old nephew will be dressing up as Darth Vader (they do not make many of the costumes he wanted in adult sizes). He is bright, but he has the mentality of a much younger child so he will always want to trick or treat. He is taller than his mommy so far, he may end up at six feet or taller. He will always be one of my babies. My 10 year old niece will be dressing up as a fairy or princess. She wore a Chef's outfit to school as they only allow costumes that relate to Nevada Day (that deal with old Nevada days). I told her to go as a mobster! Christian schools won't allow that! LOL!
I called my husband this morning. He says he is feeling better, but he still sounds scratchy to me. He went to the cigar shop to hang out with the men and do manly things! They watch movies, smoke cigars, have a drink or two and eat. I told him I should have equal time as the cigar shop! I had to give him a rather long explanation as he did not get what I was saying. I tried not to show my frustration but I did tell him I do not appreciate when someone is dismissive of something I am concerned about. He said I should have more time and we will spend some time together when I return. That made me feel good. He also said he cannot wait until I get home Tuesday and I fought the urge to say "yeah, sure." I responded in kind and just hope for the best. Maybe, just maybe we will find our way back. I truly hope so and I am trying to tell myself it is possible. He said the kittens have gotten huge and are very fiesty with each other. I got the impression he enjoys it!
I am trying to be positive about our life together. It sounds like many of the job sites are closing in Novemeber as they are 'built out'. Scary times. Some new jobs will be starting in the city he works in and he is not thrilled about continuing to commute again, but I told him it beats the alternative. He said yeah. I try not to even think about the possibility of being out of work. Guess we could live under a bridge or in our cars! Not even funny.
