The Destructive Force of Party Loyalty
I've been thinking a lot lately about our liberty in America, and how it has come under assault by those who are sworn to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States". Can anyone deny that the Federal Government has grown exponentially, resulting in our liberties shrinking exponentially, in the last 50 years or so. It was only recently that it occurred to me, that this erosion of our liberty has happened under Democrat AND Republican administrations, with Democrat AND Republican Congresses! Yet, we still keep sending those two parties to D.C. to represent us, which they are NOT doing! The only thing they have been representing is their own interests, continually seizing more and more power for themselves, while trampling all over our beloved Constitution, a document in which "we the people" tell the government what it can and cannot do; not the other way around! I believe this behavior will continue, as long as Democrats and Republicans know their only competition is each other, and it keeps getting harder and harder to tell the two apart. We've all heard, and in some cases, said ourselves, "If I vote for a third party candidate, I'm wasting my vote. I'll just vote for the lesser of two evils." Think about it. If you know neither of the two "major parties" is going to do anything to repair the damage THEY have done to our free republic, aren't you really wasting your vote when you "vote for the lesser of two evils"? The idea of a third party vote being a wasted vote is based on the assumption that a third party can't win. Well, the only reason they "can't win" is because so many of us are afraid of "wasting our vote"! We have strayed so far from the course that Thomas Jefferson and the other founders charted for us that it will be a long hard struggle to get our republic back on that course. We cannot begin to correct our course until we abandon the practice of "voting for the lesser of two evils!"

That works logically only if it is contained in the cotporate structure of the Federal. On that subject, all I can say is, no one can force a slave to be free.

Let's see what happens on Tuesday in New York's Race. Republican, Democrat and Conservative. Conservative has no money coming in from Republican or Democrat Parties but he is holding his own right now.

Absolutely right, Steve! The whole concept of a "political career" is wrong headed in a republic such as ours. They should SERVE the country a few years and GET OUT!
