| Another one about a first date |
I was going crazy last week. With the exception of two trips to a nearby mall, I haven't left this little hole in the wall town sense I arrived back in August. It was an odd form of cabin fever, more like scenary fever really. My hopes were to have a day tirp in Chicago but unfortunately no one could go with me. Although my weekend turned out to be more fun than a trip to Chicago, I still plan on taking one hopefully, soon.
So I headed off to the home of a high school friend who've I've been trying to get together with lately. The last time I saw her was for Ben's funeral, so it's been awhile. So yes, left to spend the weekend at her house. The interesting part starts here. There's this boy I've been talking to on the phone. After we graduated from high school he joined in the army and has spent the last four and a half years in South Carolina, Virginia, and Iraq. He is now out of the army and living in the same area as my friend. He called me up and asked if I would like to go out Saturday night. I said ofcourse.
He came and picked me up and we drove out to the middle of noware in search of a 15 acre corn maze. We had a blast. We made it from beginning to end and hit all stops along the way. And we only got turned around a couple times, mainly when he gave me the map. To say my orienteering skills are lacking is a huge understatement indeed. After we made it through the maze we climbed this little tower thing and then got some hot apple cider. It was fun walking around with this guy in his combat boots and camo coat who I remember as the boy from school who was constantly giving me crap and picking on me.
After the corn maze we headed to an Indian Restaurant. It took quite a bit to find it but eventually we did. The food was amazing, but then again when is curry and nan bread not amazing? He had never had curry before so it was fun seeing how much he liked it. Then we went back to my friends house and watched a movie.
And to top off such an already fun and wonderful date, we kissed.
It was such a fun date. We did fun stuff, listened to great music and laughed in the car, and was overall comfortable the whole evening. One of the best first dates I've ever had. He's coming to see me this weekend and I can't wait!
