why run ?

so i went to wok at noon yesterday and left at 1 this morning... it was a day of crisis but not the worst. its starts with a really boring staff meeting then followed by supervision. while i was meeting with my boss she got a text stating "hands on". we immediately ran to the floor and found that the two clients who ran the day before not following directions and getting escalated. so one was in restraint and the other tried to push through staff to get to her friend. i jumped in and blocked her in a doorway. i spent maybe 15 minutes blocking this kid as she was kicking my calfs pushing and threatning. ... fun stuff really. she went for a low blow so i blocked and had staff help me place her in a restraint hold. so im in this restraint she stops we let go s he can move. 15 minutes from this point i'm following these two clients out the door for thier 3rd run. at this point we walk about 15 minutes down the road. to try and keep the clients from having as much conversation with each other my friend mallory and started to sing obnoxious songs to get thier attention. one of the clients starting swearing saying we were pieces of shit, assholes, bitches ... you name she said it. hey if they are cussing me out they are not scheming. did i mention the clients were running in sox. and they packed food for thier trip (but ate it while walking down the street ... priceless). the clients decide to get on a payphone and call a boy (who we discovered was the boy she was with the curent run). dumbass the minute we went back to the program we got the number and new his name ... hahahaha loser. anywho she then asks me if i would jump in a car with them if they hitchhike .... lets think about this... HELL FUCKING NO. now i didnt say this to her but still at that point i would call the police give the liscense plate and walk my ass back. so we continue our journey, one client walks into an auto mart lot. she really was searching tosee if cars had keys so she could steal them. (okay we are not in suburbia people dont do this is thee types of neighborhoods anymore... now we know they are desperate and planless. so theleader of the pack decded to walk away all pissy after checking like 10 cras. she looks over and there is this busted fence behing the fence a lil ditch leading to train tracks ... how fucking convienient. im at this point not about to jump a ledge so i scope to find a quick way down in case the clients jump. i found out later that my plan was the oppsite of mallorys so if the clients did jump they wouldnt get away ... hahahaha we rock. so this whole time we are communicating with staff at the house, we were on a waiting game cuz at some point the clients will panic and start running or just give up and return. our plan payed off one decided to give up and ask to go back ... do you blame her at one pointy i was dragging my feet kicking lil rocks under thier feet to deter them and slow them down... it really pissed them off haha but whatever dont be stupid and run. so we call staff to tranport and walk toward the street the other client is trying to change ways and continue to run. she didnt want to run alone so they just kept walking. we called and gave an update, the police were called and then the cop called me. at this point a female officer pulls up and tells my clients to stop. this was fun one girl was like "fuck you, NO". the cop was like when an officer tells you to do something you do... words were exchange threats were made the kid was placed in handcuffs... hahaha i chuckled she was big and bad until she was cuffed and put in the car... the other the same. the officer was soo funny and was just shooting the shit. o we get in the car i got to ride SHOTGUN woop woop. the same mouthy client started up again and then got scared when she was about to be brought to jail. so we get back kids are searched sent tothier rooms for a bit. and after calming down they were let out after about an hr in thier rooms. so i switch and start to try and manage another client who never follows directions. i started this notebook with her so she can share thoughts and i can repond etc. its works well she opens up. this poor kid had able parents to support they just dont want to, no wonder she acts out. they treat her like shit it pisses me off i just want to drive to thier homes and fuck em up. so i was one on one with this kid for the next 2 hrs. she became a bit escaladed and i had to block her in her room. i kinda enjoyed it because she wont directly attack me cuz she likes me. she will try and push through me but she cant ... i win. so later on in the day i take a client to an AA meeting. no big deal right... wrong as im out the 2 runners from ealier start to not follow directions. i walk in the houe thier is food everywhere... everywhere !!!! i proceed to try and give meds to other clients since they were holding off in one spot. as i get other clients away the 2 problematic ones run up into a bedroom. staff followed and blocked one. i hear staff so i close the office door and run up. i get there one staff is blocking and trying to release the clients grip from the other staff who is blocking the other client. i release the grip and help move the other cleint. at this point i switch places and block a client in the hallway (the other in her bedroom) this client literally kicked me tried grabbing me punching me etc. i just blocked and kept heraway fro as long as possible. she becomes more aggressive and we had to put hands on. at this point we only had 3 staff and clients on the other floor unmonitored. we restrain then the other staff needed help so i held thecleint i was restraining while the other went to help the other staff. we call the police and as they show up the ids continue to act up trying to get through me.. she took a swing i pushed her back the cop grabbed her and moved her away. so cops do thier thing yesll at them a bit threaten to lock up and leave. we have one managed the other still escalated i block her in a corner and the other goes to her room. she eventualy listened and i then went to block another client who was escalated and not following directions. around 1030 we manage to get people in thier rooms but still blocking . we finish write reports and magically its 1 am. what a day. all in all though it wasnt bad staff reacted well and we worked as a team. i'm excited to have today off.
