Danny quit Kohl’s. She just walked out during her shift. I feel kind of betrayed. I guess that she couldn’t take the crap that she has had to put up with. Julie is very difficult to work for. Danny had a lot on her plate, so I don’t feel bad for her. That doesn’t mean that I won’t miss her.
That seems to happen a lot; people come and people go. You just have to keep going too. That seems kind of harsh to say. But I don’t mean that you have to give up on the friendship. What it means is people change and move on with their lives. You must do the same.
Even my friend Angela is quitting. I really don’t want her to go. We have this huge thing in common right now; we both hate our boss. If she leaves, I won’t be able to talk about our crappy boss anymore. I want to remain friends, but without seeing her every day it will be difficult. I saw her all of the time at work. But without work, I might talk to her every other week. It will be difficult to maintain our friendship without the constant contact.
I like lots of the new people, but I am not as good of friends with them. Over the summer I worked a lot and got to know all of the people that I worked closely with. Now I only work a few times a week. I don’t get to know all of the new employees as well or as fast. I miss that kind of personal attention that I can give to people. I can give it when it comes to school, because I spend so much time and energy on school anyway.
When I am at school, it is easy. I need to be friends with people that are in my classes. That way if I don’t understand something that the professor says is very important and will be on the test, I can ask them for their help. But at work, I am the one that everyone needs. I know lots and can help you of need to know something. But people have to come to me and ask. That can be very intimidating. I would rather get to know them and let them know if they need something, they can always just ask me. I just want to help.
