I am so tired of people trying to change my opinion. The fact that I am an atheist doesn’t mean that I haven’t picked a religion; I have picked not to pick. I look at it like a sports team. I haven’t picked a team because I don’t want to play.
I have a neighbor who is fairly zealous about trying to convert my family. He is nice, but he is so fake. His ulterior motives show through. Just trying to convert people, with that as your ultimate goal, you will never ever get them to join you. The only way to convert people is to lead you life the best way you know how, then the people will follow you.
I also have friends that want me to join their Multi-Level-Marketing group. Buy my insurance, or you can make fifteen thousand a month, or work from home and make lots of money. I don’t want to know all about you and your scam. Stupid pyramid schemes. They are a complete pain. How much money do I have to invest to make that fifteen grand a month? No matter the amount, I still don’t think there is much of a advantage. If you look at the cost/benefit ratio, I don’t think that any of the Multi-level-marketing things are ever worth your while.
I don’t even see how anyone makes any money. There is usually no product to sell. I have a friend that tried to get me to sell insurance with him. It was “Legal” insurance. The idea was ok, I guess. But there was no product. You can’t see it, touch it, or hear it. How do you know that it exists?
I fell dishonest when I think of me selling something form a multi-level-marketing group. I had a friend take me to a seminar where they wanted you to buy a seat in a class where they describe how to make your life better. The classes cost 1000 dollars. Hey I know what will make your life better, having another 1000 dollars. I felt like the whole thing was a con. What was worse was my friend wanted me to go to this thing. I didn’t think that it was very friendly of her to just think of me as potential client.
What’s even worse in this area is politics. I happen to be a very liberal Democrat. Some people can’t accept that kind of information. They think that all democrats are liars and dishonest. And sure there are liars and what not within the party, but no matter what group you look at you are going to find those who make your group look bad.
No matter how many times members of the LDS church come knocking on my door, I don’t blame the church for the individual’s actions. Only a small amount of blame can be placed on the church as a whole. They have an attractive idea, and they want to share that idea with others.
I don’t want people to try to convert me to their ideas. I happen to like my own ideas just fine. |

Hi TradeCraft! =) Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts/viewpoints w/ all of us here.
Altho I happen to be a spiritual person, I completely understand where you are coming from, and I respect your stance.
I don't think anyone should try to convert or push their beliefs on anyone.
We all have our own beliefs/truths, and they should be accepted and respected.
I wish you the Best!
