 Kentucky Farmer
He works all day in the summer sun
Back bronzed from exposure
He struggles tirelessly to build a life
And pulls himself one-step closer.

He struggles on Sweat on his brow Gloves on his hands
To forge a new existence
And works himself to almost death
To provide his family subsistence

Onward going everyday
Cause he knows no one else will do it
And never asks for song or praise
Just happy to have the strength to do it

Another field ,another calf
Another ear of corn
Tobacco cut, hay’s been bailed
And tomorrow he’ll do some more

Come Sunday, in the church,
Back aching in the pew
He bows his head and thanks God
For seeing his family through

Watched a farner in a field today. He had to hurry to get the hay bailed. Been thinking about him most of the night. Always out there. Always working. He's never asked for a hand out. Everything he has he earned. Growing up in kentucky instilled in me a wealth of values, but watching that man in his field maybe rmember the greatest one. We work for what we have, and we respect it because we did.

A well painted picture, through the power of words. The basic things in life, this is how we free ourselves.
