It's nice to know that I'm not the only 30-something person out here watching this stuff.
I think I was in college when MSCL came out, but I loved it just the same. I wanted to be Angela so that I could have Jordan Catalano. After all these years, not having seen an episode since MTV stopped showing it, I still remember his name.
And Buffy. I'm currently watching BtVS from the beginning. I have all 7 seasons on DVD and every time I watch I am amazed. It's so funny and so emotional. The relationships seem so real and even though it's about demons and vampires, they're really just metaphors. The show is so much more than most people realized. Of course, there's a lot of fun to it, too, with all the cute language and witticisms, but it wasn't just a girl kicks butt show. Not that that part was bad either! Ah, the old days before reality TV. Sigh.

You sound really frustrated. Does she know how uncomfortable you are?
I know it's hard, but she has to decide what she's going to do. You probably do know better than she does, but until she's ready, you can't help her.
Good luck. :)
