Worrying about a hurricane season hitting others mostly I have been lax on my promise of a poll a day.
What is the first thing you do when threatened with a storm or natural disaster...
stock food supplies
stock water supplies (people don't always understand how important this is)
Find a safe place to hide or a shelter to go to.
Plan to evacuate
Plan a party... (there are so very many people who do this)
I know you all have an answer for this one

didnt think of that one... :)
this is easy... we are used it .. when we were kids.. we learnt the first thigns you think about is to stock up on food and water. we even used to do it when there was no war or disaster.. but becuase it didnt rain so much ... so the summers where a bit harsh here.. and we had to stock up on water... because water only came twice a week.. or sometimes once.. so you have to stock up on it....
:) havnt thought about that in a loooooooooooong time....

I live in Nebraska now, but as I've mentioned before my family spent over a year rebuilding New Orleans after Katrina hit. Honestly I hate to be so serious and dramatic about this topic, but I can't tell you how heartbreaking it is to deal with the aftermath of some such thing!
Here I was in NEBRASKA ... trying to decide what friggin ART supplies I could or couldn't live without when we were packing ..... while these people were trying to decide how many people/food supplies they could fit in the next rescue boat!!!
I was absolutely brought to my knees in prayer when I actually SAW the suffering that those people endured!!!
I had issues of my own before I ever reached New Orleans, but once I saw what these people had lived through ... my pain seemed like nothing!!
Please do what you can for these people.... there are so many STILL suffering from Katrina's damage.... just because they stopped talking about it on the news ... or because there is another natural disaster doesn't mean the problem is solved!!!

I live in Houston, very close to a highway which is also an evacuation route. We stock up on water, food, and... more ammunition. ;)

I never thought about stocking up on ammo before, but I can sort of see the logic.
