THE ROLE OF WORKS IN SALVATION
One commenter expressed concern that I might be confusing faith and works, that is, that I'm saying that, to get to Heaven depends upon our behavior rather than our faith.  In fact, that is half right.

One truth that appears several times in the New Testament is that, although we are justified/saved by grace through faith, that is, solely apart from works, we are nontheless judged by our works in the end.  But before you write me off as a heretic, hear (read) me out.

Jesus said, in Matt. 7.21, that proclaiming Him as "Lord" means nothing unless we do the Father's will.  In fact, according to that verse, ONLY those who do God's will get to Heaven.  That, I think, is not to say that we must do His will IN ORDER to get to Heaven.  Rather, those who are Heaven-bound, i.e., those who are saved by faith in the Son of God, naturally do good works.

This is a natural result of regeneration, the new birth, where we are given a new heart, one that wants and craves to please God.

Other verses that teach that we are judged by our works are Matt. 16.27 and 2 Cor. 5.10.  When Jesus Christ calls a person, He bids him come and die, to die to self.  That is, to deny ourselves and what we want to do and rather do what Jesus wants us to do.

This is a mark of genuine salvation (made very clear in Matt. 7.20 and 1 John 3.10).  Let me make this very clear (but don't stop reading halfway through):  WE ARE SAVED BY GOOD WORKS!  But before you classify me as a cultist, let me be clear, we are saved by Jesus' good works, and not our own.  Mine are filthy rags (Hebrew: used menstrual rags!).

The smallest white lie earns us a place in the lake of fire (Rev. 21.8).  That can only be undone by being given the righteousness of Jesus Christ, who NEVER SINNED!  When His righteousness is imputed to me, that's my ticket to Heaven.

Imagine hypothetically that Jesus will say to a true believer on Judgment Day: "Depart from Me, you worker of iniquity!"  How would a true Christian respond?  Would he say, "I preached the Gospel in Your name; I cast out demons in Your name; and I did many wonderful works IN YOUR NAME!"

A true believer has only one claim to Heaven: CHRIST'S merits, CHRIST'S worth, and CHRIST'S righteousness!

Viva Cristo Rey!

Brother, in paragraph two of yourabove
comentary, I believe you made a
a very greivous error by cofussing the apearance of
the Christian before the Judgement
seat of Jesus where we will be

given our asigment(rewards) that will assist him in rulling His kingdom symblized
by crowns and the Great white throne Judgement where only sinner will be
judged.
Two Righeousness

one of the present day hersies is this idea that the good acts or deed
of one person can be applied tanoher.

Paul wrote in Ro 4:5, not the good
works of Jesus.

THE PROBLEM ARRISES BECAUSE OF THE
MISUNDERSTANDING THE MEANING OFBIBLICAL
RIGHTEOUNESS

During the Dispensation of the Law
as you probly know one was concidered
Righteous if they kept the Law of Moses

God(Yahway) looked at him and if
He kept hIS LAW, HE DECLARED him Right-
eous
THE DISPENSATIN OF GRACE OR The Church

PAULS message in Romans is that
because of the DEATH AND RESURRECTION
of Jesus the HOLY SPIRIT HAS INSITUED
A new definition of RIGHTEOUSENESS,
NOW ONE WHO PLACES fAITH IN JESUS AS
His Lord and Saviour is declared as
being Righteous You see if Jesus says
I am all right beause of my faith, I
have no need for His Righteous, Prase
the Lord.
Brother one last thought Please Keep in
mind that God Created You and Me to
be His instruments, minister,servants
to help Him rule His Now Kinghdom( he
has somthing for you to do for him now
which will train an prepare you for
your assgiment in the Coming Millenniel
Kingdom which will in turn prepare you
for your calling in the promised universal kingdom called scripture'
THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH WHICH
WE ALSO WILL HELP HIM RULE

So, you see this life is but a School, a college, a training grounds
to prepare us for the GLORIOUS ETERNAL
LIFE THAT AWAITS US
SO IF WE SUMMIT TO THE HOLY SPIRIT AND LET HIM COFORM US TO THE IMAGEOF
JESUS,(RO 8:29) WHICH IS A FAITHFUL AND OBEDIENT SON
WE WILL BE READY TO RECIEVE HIS CROWN
OF REWARDS AT HIS JUDGEMENT THRONE
