| A Day with Middle School Students |
|
It's a sunny but not scorching Sunday, we volunteers went to a middle school to do some cooperate activities with students there. Aiming at developing there interest in learning English, we prepared several kinds of interesting games which were connected with English and let them have class in the open air instead of classroom. However things came out the other way.
These students are attentive in the classroom, but once they were set free in the out side, they became birds flying everywhere. While playing games with them, they seemed have no enthusiasm at all. I wonder how middle school students can be so inactive when they are just in the first grade. It seems as if they where buried with books and examinations for years. To my great surprise, when I asked a boy to sit a little nearer to a girl, he refused. “Girls may treat us a good beat if I do so.” He said. My mind went blank. It’s totally not the situation with me when I was at that age. What’s wrong with them? Should there be a gap between boys and girls now?
Then, I tried my best to gether them in a circle and continued our game time. Hope what we do had do something good for them.
