ABOUT:its the London marathon ,and thousands of feet pound along the Thames Embankment.Two of those feet belong to out-of-shape, out of luck Dennis Doyle(Simon Pegg).Hes running to gain the respect(and hopefully the love) of Libby (Thandie Newton),the girl he left pregnant and heartbroken at the altar five years earlier.And running alongside Dennis is Libby's handsome,successful,self-c<wbr></wbr>onfident and very fit new boyfriend.
REVIEW:
STORY:story was alright it had alot of plot holes but the comedys so good you forget about it. Dennis was gonna get married but chickens out and runs like a muther - anyway five years later hes gained alot o' pounds and hes a mall security gaurd and only gets to see his son on the weekends hes not drunk.so he figures out his ex- has got a new boyfriend a rich successful guy whos really nice. he talks to him and figures out she fell in love with him in a marathon so to win her back he says he will run a marathon to win her back but its harder than he thinks...
ACTING:Simon pegg is a really funny guy.he plays his usual self a dimwitted but likable idiot but he always pulls that character off without a hitch.the thing is it could use a little more characters through the whole film theres only six characters that you know it could use more variety other than his hilarious hindu landlord who is the best character of the film.also his best friend in the movie just comes off real....like...an asshole.but theyre trying to pull him off as likeable.
COMEDY:theres some laughs here and there but when they come the come very subtle so you barely notice its like watching the original office you have to pay attention to get the joke.im a very big fan of these kinds of jokes and fans of shaun of the dead and hot fuzz will love the movie but everyone else will leave confused.
OVERALL:overall i think this will be a good movie to watch for fans of pegg but if you like slapstick humor than this aint for you
