Today is Sunday, May 11, Mothers Day here in Canada.
It is also the day I laid my mother to rest.
It will be hard to go through the day knowing this because my mom was my world.
But there is also another " mom " in my life now days and I will do my best to make it special for her.
My ladies children are all living in Ottawa, about a six hour drive from here.
They will call no doubt but I'm sure the " face to face " thing would be so much better.
We plan to be in Ottawa the first week in July so the gifts will be given then.
Its not like my lady never hears from them, because they do call or connect with her online quite often.
I plan to take her out to lunch at her favorite place.
Because of the relationship I had with my mother, I know just how special mothers are.
Sorry dads, while I understand your special too,there is a huge difference between the mom and the dad.
I guess its the knowing that the mom carried the child for nine months before giving birth that makes her " more special ".
I like to think my mom was the best ever but I hope every child out there reading this would argue that point.
So I truly hope that all the mom's out there have a great day and all the children out their go out of their way to make sure that their mom feels special today.
I sometimes think that one having only one day for the moms is a injustice.
We give them only one day when in fact the mom's have given us every day of their lives.
So " HAPPY MOTHERS DAY " ladies and bless you all.
May all your children go the great lengths to show you just how special you really are.
