One thing that kinda " frosts my flakes " is how some people are so concerned about looks.
Don't get me wrong, I too am somewhat concerned about the way I look but with some people its like its a passion.
I was once asked by a lady I was meeting for the first time ( blind date ) if I was handsome. I really didn't know how to answer that.
I never thought to check myself out that way. I guess I could have told her I was a real babe magnet but that might have scared her off from meeting me. I could have said that I was a real ugly SOB but that too could have scared her away. What a spot to be in.
So with all my training, I turned to tables on her and went on the offensive.
I asked her if it mattered that much to her ?
She replied that she wouldn't like to be seen with someone that wasn't appealing.
I reminded her that after lots of phone time, it was her that suggested that we meet.
She said she knew that but since we were within two days of meeting, now was the time she was getting concerned.
I asked why she wanted to meet me at all.
She said she found me funny, good hearted, pleasent to talk too etc.
To which I replied " knowing all that, is that not enough"?
I told her I've had girlfriends with the movie star looks, and I found most of them lacked the substance within.
So now I find myself not too interested into someone's " wrapper ". I am more interested in the " contents."
So give me a lady, with a good kind heart, who is funny, that is not afraid to show her feelings, who is loyal and honest and throw in some decent looks and I'm really interested in her.
Its not wrong to want to be with someone who is easy on the eyes but it should never be the ONLY reason your with them.
Needless to say, my date never happened.

I too don't worry about looks. If I feel comfortable enough on the phone, then heck yea I will meet you...Even if you were not the best looking one, I would still enjoy the company of a tender hearted, funny man....Looks are not that important for me. I can have a nice dinner and whatever else with any man, as long as he wasn't married...I would never go for the married ones...And I think I can hold a great conversation with anyone...As for describing myself to a man, I would state the obvious, blonde, blueeyed,not the cutest and surely not the ugliest thing you ever met.....
So templar if I described myself to you on a date, would you go??? Not that we are making a date,for those that may read this...hahaha....
