Insensitive People !!!!
Far too many people are insensitive to people that are over weight.
I see them starring at the overweight people in the stores and the malls.
I see the look of disgust in their eyes. Like these people have no right to be out in the daytime.
I guess we can't all have the "beautiful bodies " or the " buff " ones like the guys do but you know what, I don't have any interest in any of that.
Some of my closest friends are over weight and they are great people.
The truth be known, I have even dated large ladies in the past and found the weight issue a non factor.
Looking good is fine and being healthy is great but if it comes at the price of someone sticking their nose up at others well, its really not worth it.
Many times people have a eating disorder or its something caused from their family back ground.
Does this make them any less human ?
I even heard one mother tell her son to stay away from the " fat man ". I couldn't believe it.
I think its high time people start treating ALL people as equals .
We talk about all the isms in the world today. Racism, sexism, religionism, ageism, why not weightism?
Lets stop putting up barriers at people who are not the " body beautiful's " we seem to think every body should be.
Lets look beneath the " wrappers ". Interest yourself with the " contents " of the person.
InĀ  most cases you'll find a caring loving person there.
And we sure can use all those we can get.
so until I blog at you again,
take care of yourselves ,
and each other.....templar

Generally speaking, overweight people have self-esteem issues as it is. I can't imagine wanting to further burden someone by treating them like a freak. You'd have to be an insensitive oaf to do such a thing! Maybe if overweight people suddenly started treating weightists like freaks because of their obvious personality disorder (!) they'd get it!

yes and one of the reasons they have esteem issues could be they are looked dow at by far to many people. Some people should be made to walk in their shoes.
Methinks they wouldn't like the " fit ".

I agree with this. I need to ponder it now over a glass of strawberry milk and some ho ho's.

I totally agree with you! I have some friends that are fairly over weight and I have friends that are stick figures. Actually @ my work place today this was the main topic of conversation after an an overweight woman came inside the bank... It hurt me to see them make fun of her when she was totally nice and super funny! I would love to be in great shape too - but geez sometimes it just dont work like that! GREAT POST THO!!!
