 Fate

Are you a believer of fate ?
Does fate play a big role in your life ?
I'm a believer in fate.
I believe that " if things were meant to happen, they would happen."
We can plan our lives, do all the right things, make all the right choices but when it doesn't go the way we wanted it to, how do you explain that ?
For me, I explain it by saying" it must be fate ".
I used to spend lots of time trying to figure out why things were turning out the way they were. I stopped doing that a long time ago.
Now, I just accept it as my fate.
It has been suggested that instead of the word " fate ", the better word might be " destiny ".
What is the diffence between the two words ?
One could say " it was my fate that I won all this money " or they could say " it was my destiny that I won all this money."
So again I ask, what is the difference ?
People have a plan very early in life.
For me, when I was around 6 to 8, I wanted to be a " cowboy ". Later when I was 10, I wanted to be a " fireman ". When I was in my late teens, I was in a band and I wanted to be just like the "Beatles ". When I turned 20 I wanted to be a good husband and father.
None of that ever happened. Why not ? I did all the right things, made all the right choices .
Well I guess it was my fate that I didn't become a cowboy or a fireman. I guess it was fate that I didn't become like the Beatles.
And sadly, I guess it was fate that I couldn't become a good husband and father because I caught her cheating.
So what do you think ?
Are you a believer in fate of not ?

till I blog at you again...take care of yourselves and each other...templar

I think that life is a bit like a crap-shoot (pardon the expression). However I do believe it's possible to load the dice in your favour by the choices you make. Then again, a choice is just a fork in the road.

I don't believe that our lives are predestined or mapped out for us, but sometimes we can take comfort in believing that when something bad happens, it's not our fault - it was "meant to be." We tell ourselves whatever we have to to get through.

I'm going on a bit here, but, I also believe that if you channel your energy in either possitive or negative ways, the odds are in your favour of getting back what you give.

Great post, Templar. Serious food for thought!

I believe in fate. At the same time I believe in good actions give good result vice-verca.

There are things in life that happen and we can't avoid them at all and they are beyond our control, they happen. These are fate.

Other things in life are definitely the result of our doings. This usually about choices you make in life, the one that you can control. For example if study hard before the exam, more than likely you will have better result than if you don't study at all. Also a person cheats the partner, this is not fate. This is the choice that that person makes. We control this cheating process to happen.
