Well, I am getting better at the portion control, although not all the time. I make myself think, do I really need this at lunch time, but the problem seems to be at home mostly. If I am at home I get bored and what do we fat people do when we are bored? We eat. We are doing really good in keeping most of the snacky foods out, I still have my chips and salsa but I'v got good at either making them a meal or not eating them at all. My husband works second shift so I don't always cook. I am getting better at lunch as I said, I bring my can of soup or veggie steamers (by the way if you like your veggies those things are really good and filling). I ate a little much at breakfast on Friday, work had a meeting and we get a free breakfast, but I did manage to make a comment to someone else about how next time I'm just gonna eat the fruit that is offered. I think by saying it to someone else I'm more likely to do it because I feel that they will watch to see if I told the truth, I know most likely they won't even remember, but hey it's my fantasy world so deal with it.
Exercise? Well I do stand at my desk at work a lot more than I used to. I don't work were customers can see (gotta love a phone techie job) so I can stand up and do some squats or strech my legs, so if our phones are slow (which happens more often than not) I am standing and trying to move around so that I won't eat out of what? you guessed it boredom. I also am doing cross word puzzles strengthing my mind and keeping my hand off the food. Excersice at home? not going so well. It is getting hot out there and while it would be good to walk, I'm weary of it for 1) My baby, I don't want her to get to hot (lame excuse? probably) 2) cause well I've been feeling kinda lazy.
So have I lost any weight? Well, I did manage to squeeze in to a size 18 pants that I managed to get into right before I got pregnant...so maybe? Yeah it meant laying on the bed and pushing my hips up so the fat would move to my chest, but hey I got them on and with a nice long and baggy shirt noone knew about my major muffin top (or as some say dunlap).
I feel that I am working on it. If I can just stay motiviated. This really helps me it reminds me when I write about all the reasons that I want to lose weight...my daughter mostly. Who by the way just turned 7 months last week!!! and we got her pictures done (you know the ones that your supossed to get at 6 months (procrasitinater, yes I am!!!) Which may be why I haven't managed to lose much weight in my life time. I mean if your always saying, well I can start that diet tomorrow then tomorrow never comes right?
I recently saw a list on 100 reasons to quit smoking and that gave me an idea here are a few reasons to quit eating so many extra calories a day or simply put Reasons to quit being fat (some of these are personal to me some are not so feel free to add your own in comments):
1) My daughter, to give her a healthy lifestyle that she deserves
2) To be able to buy clothes without having the extra $2 for "extended sizes" (gotta love "extended" its like their afraid to say hey you are fat and your clothes take more material to make so deal with it.)
3) To save on gas, yeah get two fat people riding in the same car and see what that does to your gas milage.
4)To be able to run without having to stop after 10 seconds
5) To be able to shop in almost any store (except Lane Bryant, the only truly fat woman store around my area)
6) To be able for once in my life wear a bikini....if I was to where one right now people might go OMG!!! She doesn't have any bottoms on.
7) To be able to run and play with my child that has just started to crawl, without getting out of breath
8) To ride a bike...enough said unless you wanna see a comedy show
9)To have sex without having to stop and reposition because your knees have given out.
10) To keep from getting diabetes..yeah both sides of my family I'm gonna die early if I don't do somethin
11) To be around when my grandkids get here in oh about 25 years
12) To be able to run and play with those darling grandkids
13) To be the MILF...hey why not right
14) To be able to look in my mirror without disgust and tears
15) To be able to care about how I look on a daily basis
16)To dance to my favorite song all the way through...yeah even us fat people like to dance believe it or not
17) To be able to eat out without the feeling that people are watching you and thinking geeze I don't think she needs to eat for the rest of the year
