Taylor River Study Presentation 10/29/07

Hampton Falls, NH hosted the most recent Taylor River Feasibility Study presentation. Public discussion took place after the presentation.
Hightened concerns were raised.
The study, which Hampton originally proposed to be an independent study has been assumed by the DOT and other government officiates. The DOT appears to wants the fresh water river to drain to become mud flats and become a tidal marsh, allowing the saltwater to enter to a much lower level.
The study has not determined or even looked into the following concerns if the dam is removed:
1. Well water effects from salt water sepage and the drying of wells due to the lowering of the water level.
2. Lack of Fire Hydrants and the elimination of the only river water access point for fire trucks and homeowner fire insurance cost increases.

3. Property value impact.
4. Depletion of recreational land use.
5. Insect effect & lack of defense (the non use of insectcide by the towns).

What is your opinion?
