As promised, here is the reply I got from Dayton when I asked him to semi-formal and when I asked him out...
As for semi-formal he said he wasn't going because three other people asked him and it is just easier to not hurt anybody and say no and not go. As for going out with me, he said he isn't going to say no but asked that I just give him a little time because he is still getting used to the school and such.
I'm happy with that answer and other's might think it is horrible but i don't care. I like him a lot and he doesn't not like me so that should count for something right???

I figured that would be fair, others say that he shouldn't need time but I feel it is okay because he isn't saying no.

I don't agree with it anymore, I'm tired of him flirting with me and not being ready for a relationship...I'll live though

Guys need time for relationships, I know it sucks, but they do...

Guys that age are not ready for a real relationship.
There might be exceptions to that rule, but most guys that age, really can focus only on school, and having fun.
Why not just ask him to the movies or something, it might save you from Ellis, and Mickey's wrath.
