The True Religion: The Power of Speach
So let’s review what we have learned about this true (as in provable) religion.
  1. There is no God as is conceived of in the three major monotheistic religions, i.e. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
  2.  Our minds have the power, ability and desire to solve problems.
  3.  Concrete items help our minds focus on both the problem and the solution just like a crucifix aids the Catholic in prayer and the cross aids most Christians. Our brain responds to symbols. They help us focus.
  4. There is magick in the Universe. (magick means something akin to miracle, wondrous. Not the word magic that refers to illusions created by tricks.)

It is not supernatural. It is completely natural. In fact, nature itself is magick.

Now I want to talk about the power of words - the power of your own words, even when telling a lie.

There is a little demonstration one of my friends uses whenever she is teaching this new religion.

She asks a volunteer to come up in front of the students and stick out their arm, straight out in front of them. Just make a fist and hold your arm up as I try to lower it with my hand.

Some people have so much strength that, even using two hands, she cannot lower the volunteer’s arm.

Then she asks the volunteer to repeat a sentence ten times. She also asks the audience to chant with the volunteer. They all repeat the sentence aloud, ten times.

The sentence is “I am a weak and worthless person”. Ten times the whole classroom and the volunteer repeat it like a chant.

I am a weak and worthless person.

I am a weak and worthless person.

I am a weak and worthless person….ten times.

Then my friend instructs the volunteer to raise his/her arm again. Again, she tells the volunteer to resist her attempts. In every single case, the arm lowers with very little resistance. You can usually hear “ooo’s and ah’s” in the classroom, but the best reaction comes from the Volunteer.

If the person hasn’t studied the relationship between our brains and words, they are astounded!

Some people think that the arm comes right down because it is getting tired.  The teacher proves them wrong.

One such skeptic who had been in the class a few times before. He volunteered to be the guinea pig. He was grinning ear to ear because he thought he was going to expose this exercise as a set-up.

He gleefully put out his arm and chanted. When my friend tried again to lower it, he gave it all of his strength! The arm came down with ease.

“Oh, my God!” he shouted. "I didn’t believe it was real!" His mouth remained open for several minutes while the group mumbled among themselves as if they had just witnessed a miracle.

Again, the volunteer and the group are told to chant a sentence ten times aloud. This time the sentence is, “I am a strong and valuable person!” To everyone’s amazement, the volunteer is stronger than he/she was the first time!

The demonstration is astounding! But the lesson isn’t over.
My friend then asks if the volunteer believed what he/she was saying when he/she said, “I am a weak and worthless person”. They usually answer with an emphatic, “NO!”

Do you see it? Do you get the ramifications of this experiment?

Every word we say, whether we believe it or not, has an effect, not only on our minds, but also on our bodies!
Our words affect the physical universe! Not like in “let there be light”. Well yes! Just like, “Let there be light” – only on a smaller scale.(This is called manifesting by many new age religions.)

And as long as I’m quoting the Bible, you might want to check out the tenth chapter of John where Jesus explains that God, through the scriptures, call us gods. Particularly study vs. 30 through 37.

In addition, you might want to question the reason that Paul is instructing Christians to monitor their very thoughts.  He understood how powerful our words are – and remember that every word is preceded by a thought.  Don't think it and you won't say it. (II Corinthians 10: 3-5)

(I won’t be showing specific references from here on out. It takes too long. I only do it to demonstrate that the concepts I am discussing here are supported by the scriptures of most of the world religions.

If you want to know where the Bible says something I report, use a concordance to look it up. You can find a computerized version and information about how to use one at
http://www.godsview.com/).

Note from Tacomadragon
This blog is not teaching a religion that has as it’s goal, salvation. This religion is meant to help you live your life with a minimum of strong negative emotions and to be reasonably happy during your life on earth. It is completely compatable with Christianity and Judaism for those who wish to hold on the the Father God concept. I do not know enough about Islam to be able to say that.

This is a religion that can be practiced by agnostics and atheists since there is nothing here about the supernatural. It is scientifically based and concerns mostly the control our brains have over our environment and our reaction to it.

I compiled this information because I wanted the elements of religion that help contol brain chemistry and to add  rituals and ceremonies that help us enjoy our lives more fully.
Buddhism can be practiced by atheists, but the information is not easily accessible to me. It is writen in parables that I don't understand. It is written as a riddles, and the student must dig for the answers.
While I will use much wisdom from the Buddhas, the path to enlightenment here is much more direct and easier to achieve.

I do hope that it helps to write down your feelings as you do. You have a very keen mind and can express yourself in a very articulate manner. You do make minor errors but to correct them would destroy the flow and would not be worthy of you. Can I just say I wish you could find contentment and peace of mind. The best advice about Christianity I ever got was from one of the most intellectual academics I ever met. He's a professor and when I asked him about my doubts, he smiled and said 'Just Believe.' Since then that is what I have done and it makes things so much easier. I'm sorry your past was such a troubled one and I don't feel superior to you in any way - many of us have had bad experiences. It's what you do with them that matters. I hope I don't sound like I'm talking down cause I wouldn't insult you, I promise. It's a big thing to take in that God is listening to every prayer from every sinner, but it's such a wonderful thing to know that he does. We are mortals and only capable of doing what humans can do, even the cleverest and most intelligent of us, but He is mighty and beyond our comprehension. Forgive the lecture - I just wish you peace. Speech by the way, is spelt with two e's. Unless it is an American spelling of which I am not knowledgeable. E

To E.
Why do Believers always assume that we atheist are unhappy or not at peace?

I’m writing, not because I want you to stop believing in God, (although I think dropping my belief in God and the afterlife has made me much more impassioned about this one. I believe that this is all I have to leave my imprint on the world.)

Along that line, I’m not saying that you can’t believe in God. I’m saying I have found something much more reliable. I can’t explain it in one or two essays. Please read on, as I am able to add to the blog.

I can see you have a gentle “spirit”. (By Spirit, I mean energy since I don’t believe that there are spirits.)

I agree with you. What happens to you is not what’s important. You can’t change that. It is what you think about what happens to you.

I’m getting to a way to change your thinking, even when it is your nature to think the worst.

It doesn’t matter what your faith is in if you can learn to control your thoughts. That doesn’t sound right.
Just read on…

Hi Cynthia,

I did not think you were unhappy by what you wrote in your blog; I made that assumption by reading 'about me' in your profile. That's also why I added that I do not want you to think I am trying to sound superior.

I read with interest the demonstration used by your friend. The same process is used in Kinesiology (haven't a clue how that is spelt and not near a dictionary) and I can see for myself how it works.

I totally believe we have to control our thoughts. For me that is part of my Christian life and not one that I find easy. Right now I am dealing with someone who I find so hard to like but I know I have to overcome it, so I know how diffficult it is.

Even at my age I am still finding out things about myself everyday. I try to make sense of my past and use my understanding of my errors to improve my future. The one steadfast thing in my life is God and the Christian life. I'm not a good Christian - I'm a great sinner, but I do believe in the Holy Spirit and I know that small inner voice has been given to me. You would call it conscience, I know it isn't.

I am genuinely pleased that you are at peace and happy with yourself. I wouldn't want to change or alter that but I am sad that you have known people who call themselves Christians and have let you down so badly.

I hope your day is as good as it is here in Ireland. It is warm and sunny and it feels good. Best, Elaine

I am a believer, not in any religious beliefs, but in the ability of humans to confuse life with them. I am also a happy, god-less person. There are plenty for improvement in my life but none that could improved upon by a belief in god. That said; 'whatever floats your boat'

Your thoughts Determine your your believing, your believing determine your speaking, and your speaking determines what you get in life. [good or bad] The Bible has been teaching that since the begining of time.
