Okay...for those of you who know me, know how much I love animals. You will also know about some of my own resuces. One of which lives with me now, and will till she finally leaves us. Well, I recorded an episode of Oprah that looked really interesting to me. It was on Puppy Mills....now I feel that these are different from a responsible breeder. I have met people who do a lot of breeding, but treat not only their breeding dogs well, but the puppies too. One in particular they have their dogs in the house as pets, and said to me that her Dame built her house. Now that is what a breeder should say and how they feel. Now most of you know my Gidget and know that I have bred her....and I do plan on breeding her again after Missy leaves us. I really am doing this because I just want another Gidget. Now on this episode I saw some of these mothers who have been over bred, they are in such bad shape. Now just to pull at heart strings a bit more When these puppy mills find that a dog is not breedable anymore they shoot them. Now really is that a reason for a dog to die. Is that really their only purpose in life? Most of these dogs don’t know what it is like to have a person touch them with any love, for their entire lives. I really don’t know what I can do to help but please pass the word and hopefully together we can figure out what can be done. The below video is one that I found it is not pretty I tell you, and I may not sleep well tonight because all I can think of is that tonight there are many dogs out there that don’t know the love that my babies know. Please next time you think about getting a puppy go to a shelter, or if you feel that you have to have a pure bred dog do research on the breeder. Maybe in time puppy mills can’t make money and will go out of buisness.

Sorry about the video toots, I simply cannot watch those things. I know how you feel, and I wonder how those kind of people sleep at night. I would be supportive of a charity group for Puppy Mills. Let me know how.

You can actually find charities in your area just by googling rescues and paying particular attention to groups that go and get the dogs from these mills. Main line rescue is the one that was on oparah go to their site as listed above and you may be able to see more charities.
