waiting, we see it as a chore, but dont the best things, al wazys happen after weve waited.  Granted you can also get the biggest disappointments after youve been waiting, but been made to wait meakes the tiniest thing an experience.

think about waiting rooms, most of the time you are just sat waiting for a general checkup, but what if your waiting for some one else news, or your first born... these are the things in life we are perhaps waiting our entire life for, but its when your sat there, the event in the imminent future, that anticipation, dread, hope and excitement travle on the wind of adrenaline through your body.

Now here is when you say, but the news in these rooms can be terrible, and an experience, a wait, no one wants to have to go through, but when do we feel most alive? when we are at extremes, im not saying this makes anything less painful, but its a reminder that we are here, real, if you pinch me ill feel it.

But its not these specifically named waiting rooms im thinking about tonight, its the every day wait, those tiny reminders that give us that feeling in your belly, the one you cant describe in a word. It makes us angry, flippant, we tell ourselves we wont wait any longer, we will ignore it, its not that important, but for some reason we cant stop checking.

People say that the mobile has ruined our life, but in everyday normal life, when your not having a baby, when youve had a boring day how does a text message from a friend, a special some one, a relative youve not heard from in a while make you feel?

Its the instant letter, a little reminder of the power of word and conversation.  Its the cheap version i admit, and obviously i dont mean in terms of money- i have unlimited messages after all- surely hand written love notes mean more, surely that relatives voice down the phone would be much more comforting.  But at the end of the day it doesnt create the same wait as when you are waiting for a reply.

This wait is a much more heightened experience in the dating world obviously, butterflies after youve sent a flirty text, the worry you may have come on to strong its so instant, at the touch of the button, and i for one think this is no bad thing, everyone says we need to slow down these days, but i want to ask them to sit and wait for a message from some one, that ultimately they just fancy the pants off, i bet its the highlight of the day.

We all long for our phone to vibrate, the daily buzz.
