 "it should be your's..."
so 2 things inspire me to write this particular blog...

1st a comment left on my previous intorduction blog that you dont have to be good at blooging, as long as it's yours', so i have smurfan to thank for this...

Secondly, today i was stood in a shop looking at all these beautiful notebooks and thinking as i always do is love to write my thoughts in one of them, and yet here i am, doing it on the cold cyber net.

My lap top has no beautiful luxurious silk covering, these words arent written in my own hand, with my neat curved and slanted writing.  But here, i write, paper i dont.  Ive always loved the idea of a diary, expressing your darkest inner most feelings and stumbling across a profound thought, something significant, something genuine. The hand writen word feels so much more sentimental, we all long for that hand written love note, the signature is still a sign of authenticity and yet i write my thoughts here.

On the glare of a laptop screen my words stand in a standard font upright and in plain black and write, there is no smudge of a tear, and once the publish button is pressed i have no real claim over these words.

But perhaps this is exactly why i write here, once i close that lovely patterned silk cover of my notebook, i close off my words, i would never be able to sare those words, without embarassment or perhaps arrogance.  The joy of the publish button is exactly that, the publishment of something ive written, it may not be a in a spreadsheet newspaper or a penguin classic but its there with the purpose to be read by others.

So yes these thoughts are mine, this blog is mine, but the sentiment, the philosophy and the interpretation are yours. in each reading we rewrite just as you do with Shakespeare or Orwell.  The writer is by no means on par, but the reader is, and what is the point of the word is it is only ever written?
