Obama Explains National Anthem Stance

Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag pin, presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was forced to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

According to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171, During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.

'As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides,' Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.'

WHAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this could possibly be our next president. I, for once, am speechless . . .

::::END OF MESSAGE:::

Well guess what… I am not speechless.

Everyone has been at a baseball game or sporting event where the National Anthem is being played and some ass hole behind you is on their cell phone, and you think that it is rude and disrespectful. Right?
Now The Star Spangled Banner is a song that stirs emotion in every person as it is played, be it nerves as you stand on the foul line next to teammates ready to play a game, or you stand at the burial of a soldier, killed at war. I find it next to impossible to keep myself from getting goose bumps each and every time I hear it played or sang. And if you are so lucky as I have been to have the last few lines of this song drowned out to the sound of a fly over from the blue angels, and you can keep your emotions in check, you have ice water for blood, and I must question your patriotism.

To the point of the matter. The American Flag IS NOT a symbol of oppression. It is a symbol of Freedom, of Democracy, of Liberty, and that of the greatest country in the world.

The Star Spangled Banner was a song written during the Revolutionary War as America was fighting for and gaining its independence from England. Mr. Obama, had these events never occurred, had the “bombs not been bursting in air” and all… you would not have the opportunity to degrade our country and our flag and our national anthem on your way to becoming its possible presidential candidate. Sure we would love to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony but had Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, John Handcock and all the others decided to sing in perfect harmony, “Long live the Queen” would be on every childs tongue before class rather than “I PLEDGE ALLIEGANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”. Though we are adults now and our day does not always start with these words, it is still in the mind and the hearts of any and every American, except those who on Sunday morning sit in a pew and shout AMEN at the words of a pastor that proclaims “GOD DAMN AMERICA!”

In honesty, Barack’s words regarding the national anthem really should not come as a surprise to anyone. This man, Obama, is being found out to be an anti-american racist, plain and simple. The man is a great speaker, and on first glance seems to be as kind and brilliant a man as any, surely if he is elected we can look forward to well prepared, well stated speeches that surely Senator McCain will not be able to compare to. But it is said that true wisdom is knowing what it is that you do not know. Barack Obama, you are a fool. You are aspiring to be the leader of this nations and the truth is… you know nothing about it.

You, Barack, are that ass hole two rows back talking, in your case, talking very eloquently, through the National Anthem, and it is time for America to turn around and tell you to SHUT THE FUCK UP! You have no respect for the people that have died and fought for you to have the freedom to be the moron you are today. Those are the same people who now would say, “Sir, I do not at all agree with what you say, but I swear by God that I will fight to the death to preserve your right to say it”… you knew a Voltaire quote was coming in this thing somewhere right?

So I say to you, say what you will about our flag and about our National Anthem, for you have the right to say and act as you please. But know this, these are not and will never be the actions of our president, that much I can assure you. No one wants the Commander-in-Chief of this county to have these views on America, and I am ashamed to know that you represent my state in Congress.
Read the words carefully Barack… you just might learn something about the country you are trying to be the leader of.

O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: 'In God is our trust.'
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

God Bless America!

…… and you sir, are a joke!
