This was stupid, when we were in our 20's, we were driving through a mountain park. And saw some local 'hippies' in a V.W. pulled over by police, and thier belongings being tossed out of the car. I convinced my hubby to walk on over there and offer his lawyerly advice that a search warrant was needed to do such a thing. Funny thing is, it worked, funnier still, my hubby was not a lawyer.

yes! I am envisioning it on my mantle now. Ha ha, the contest isn't until August, I may be very tired of chili by then. Thanks Greenersky

Great post! Grown kids are still kids, I know. Mine still want to know I am right HERE, even when they are 'wherever'. Wife and I get a good scolding if we are off together too late and don't check in.

Good for you. We spend time with our grandsons doing the same, making a campfire on the property, and having an old fashioned 'weenie roast' ending with the marshmallows. Kids remember the fun times. Hope things get easier for you.

You know you did your best, and I know the press gets it wrong a lot of the time. Sensation sells papers. Feel better soon. Nice to see you in thoughts.

California drunk driving laws are stricter. Stalkers who become fixated on any person who does not want to know them need some kind of restraint. Restraining orders are good for enforcing only if they are caught in the act,and he was. Remember the cute actress Rebecca Schaeffer of 'my Sister Sam' T.V. Show. Her stalker found her address, and murdered her at his first chance. Meek mannerisms in court don't show the juggernaught persistance of these people.

Posted in So, am I missing something about growing older? on 2008-05-14 22:04:39
Wisdom...I don't feel particularly wise. But I am older, so I have learnd a thing or two. I learned to always know where the exit is in a large room,or building. I learned to never take the first offer. I learned that a compliment on someone's cooking will get you invited back. I learned that a kind word will brighten anyones day. And that encouragement makes people work harder than ridicule will.

First,60 is NOT old. Second, when you do reach your 60's, you have reached your work potential, I still ran a construction company full time at 60. You do get more respect, which makes me happy.Your marriage works better, the arguments are mostly gone. You know what pleases the other. No hysterics. You don't care what others think of your ride, the way you dress, or much of anthing personal. Age has it's perks, one is the maturity to not give a flying---- about what anyone thinks.Very invigorating, I recommend it. Extra perk, the cars you drove in your 20's are 'classics'.

As long as I am stillkickin, I'll hold the door for a lady. When I am old and/or decrepit, I hope a lady would hold the door for me. In any case, we are all bumbling around in this world stepping on toes sometimes. Can't be helped, no one posted the rules on our foreheads.
