I am by no means an experienced knitter. For years I desired to learn the craft of knitting but all to no avail. I learned the knit stitch and purl stitch but would somehow manage to do something wrong. I would literally start patterns and then stop in the middle. I wouldn't just FROG my started piece I would take it completely out to use the yarn for a new crochet project until recently. I love to crochet but I find that I love the way a knitted sweater looks verses a crocheted sweater. I found a load of inspiration from
knittinghelp.com. I did a training sock (a sock pattern that is small scale to help you understand the pattern and technique of sock making) last summer which started my journey. I then finished a knit project just before Christmas. Then I did a training mitten (same as above). I then completed my next project right before new years and then another this week. I have crocheted for years but not a lot until this last year and a half. I understand the knitting and crochet terms now that I am able to create projects without complete help from patterns. I love the speed I have with crochet but still absolutely love the finished look of knit. Right now I am discovering Fair Isle Knitting. I am loving it.
