In which crisps have been the mainstay of my diet...
It's all LN's fault. When he was here on Monday, he wanted, nay, needed comfort food. So LN, being who he is, went forth and got it. Three different kinds of chips and two different kinds of salsa. Then he left, leaving 3 open bags in my apartment.
Flesh and blood can only stand so much.
I've had so many chips crisps - rename them, and technically I'm breaking no promises about not eating chips - lately that my back teeth hurt. SS's wife laughed at me because I told her that my teeth couldn't handle solid foods anymore, and she offered to get me fruit slush for lunch.
"Thank you. V. kind of you", I said, "but that's farrrr too healthful"
Then I broke down and bought some jelly-beans. And it's all MB's fault. You see, he was the one who said to race up in Squamish a few weekends ago.
"Squamish! Revisit your first trail race! It'll be good for your addling and aging brain! Replace your old memories with fresh ones of Alice Lake!"
And the organizers had jelly beans for the apres-course refreshments. I had about 3 beans (white, red and green), and since then I've been craving them. I finally broke down and got some at London Drugs. Now there's a bag hidden in my drawer and i sneak a handful or so every hour or so (I have small hands. tiny even).
Then on Wednesday, following my instructions from MB, I had grossly fatty and doughy foods topped with a frozen then reheated doughnut. All these dietary indiscretions took place against a background of chocolate chip cookies, at least home-made, ginger candy, the last of the pineapple tarts and love letters.
So I went for my top secret uphill and downhill run at race pace designed to build strength in hill climbing and lung capacity a little run yesterday to try out the ankle in less than flat conditions, and felt horrendously heavy. Goodness, it felt like I had strapped two full bladders of water around my legs. However, the good news is that the ankles were fine for the most part.
Starting this weekend, I'm cleansing myself inside and out - i.e. exfoliate inside and out. Have to make myself feel lighter, not debulk, but and feed myself with things that are nutritious. Must make go to costco soon too.
But one more jelly bean and piece of milk chocolate before I start...
