| Cowboys and Angels |

A little different from my usual... I've had this title stuck in my head for several days now and have tried many times to put a good poem to it. I know I went about it a little backwards, putting title before rhyme, but it actually lead to the last two poems I've posted (odd how that happened). Anyways, third times a charm, right? Lemme know lol.
Cowboys and Angels
Only six years old and already,
Thoughts of cowboys fill her head.
A little girl begins to dream,
As the angels watch over her bed.
The youthful daughter of a farm wife
Still so young yet already so smart.
She dreams of a handsome rodeo prince
Who will do anything to win her heart.
Twice the age and in high school,
A lovely teenage lady she's turned into.
Dating that cowboy from her dreams,
While angles watch closely over the two.
He's a wild and reckless one,
But always kind and loving with her.
Respecting her as a gentleman would,
Angels keeping him in check, that's for sure.
Married that cowboy, she finally did,
Though her parents thought her a fool.
With angels still looking over her,
Long after leaving high school.
Tucking her daughter in bed many years later,
She smiles and whispers to her little cowgal,
"Good night, sweet dreams of cowboys,
May the angels are watch over you now."
