WK, though this may be the first time commenting, I have swung by on occasion. This really hits home for me, so I thought I'd drop this. Meredith took the words right out of my mouth lol. I had someone I could barely live without, but knew she would never be mine, always just out of reach. It is the worst pain I've ever felt. Recently, I have found someone who woke me back up, but lives so far away. Yes, I do have a slight crush on her, if you will, but also know it will most likely never amount to anything. So why? Because she is safe. Having her in my thoughts keeps me away from true heartbreak. I know I am merely hiding but I am done with the heartaches, at least for a while. Just food for thought.

Many years ago, while still married I DJ'd at a pub. All the club DJ's would visit the others on their days off, kinda kindred bond thing. Well, one evening off, I took the wifey out and (after way too much to drink) we convinced her to do kareokee (spelling?). It was a complete disaster. We still laugh about her scary rendition of 'Hey Jude' today. Thankfully, she as a good sense of humor lol.

not to poke fun at your current situation, but I found it interesting and amusing the way you catagorized those you work with. I agree with you on our education system being so terrible though. My sister spent a long time to become a teacher as it was a passion of hers. Sadly in rural america, this makes her an excellent sales person at the local sporting goods store as there has been no teaching positions open since, I don't know 1985? lol Good luck, and may you escape the daycare politics soon.

it's not just the kids I worry about, it's the adults that drive without paying attention. My line of work is ranked one of the most dangerous. In the last 3 yrs, my truck has been hit 4 times and I have come really close more times than I can count. Slow down people, it's not worth the risk, especially to me! :)

I understand your anguish. I have a younger sister that has made some really bad choices in life. Depsite several attempts by everyone in the family, she is set in her ways and looks like she'll never change. if it makes you feel any better I still have boxes from when I moved in almost a year ago. hate the unpacking thing, that's when you find the evil box gremlins made off with things like the can opener or the power cord to the stereo lol.

hey jess, I think we all have sisters like that, mine has become the main hub of the gossip superhighway. THankfully we are both grown and live apart, and I've learned to only tell her things that are nessecary or to have fun, i.e. I met a girl and we're moving to south africa. I know it's wrong, but sometimes it's fun to play with gossipers.

Hey K, sadly there are the occasional ones who cry wolf and misuse the system. What's worse, is those minimal few make the system harder for those who are truely in need. They also plant the seed of doubt and mistrust in people who stereotype all victims by the wrongfull actions of a select few. We always hear about the ones caught cheating the system, we don't always hear about ALL the real victims out there.

Well I personally avoid politics like the plauge but I whole heartedly believe we're overdue for some major reconstruction. Honestly, I'm a little suprised we haven't had another civil war with the way this country is run, but that's just me. I'm redneck, if it can't be fixed with a hammer, get a bigger hammer, if it breaks ya probably needed a new one anyways.
