Categorized under the entry of most popular lesser known websites, http://www.guimp.com is considered the world's smallest website......literally. The site, created by Alan Outten, is as big as a Chiclet, yet it holds as many navigable pages and information as your everyday online haunt, including news, games (pong, pacman, astroids, tictactoe, space invaders, a 3d game, etc.), art/showcase/pop galleries, a blog (sorry, not one where the general public can post), and they even have an actual google search engine where you can type in your query. This site also features a webcam; what did I see from the world's tiniest webcam? A White guy's little head bouncing around (Alan Outten, possibly?) as if he's singing. The cam's supposedly live; who knows if it is, but it's still pretty cool nonetheless.
Guimp.com contains links to other sites, including it's own myminicity (http://guimp.myminicity.com). Alot of times when you search out a cool website, you'll find a link to another one. After investigating myminicity, I created my own. World, I present to you the great city of Soewhato (http://soewhato.myminiciy.com). It's an Ethiopian city with 1 inhabitant and little money (I blame the governmental infrastructure). Maybe I should have selected South Africa for my city's location since its namesake is obviously the real urban locale of Soweto (you know, in South Africa....in the city of Johannesburg.....oh whatever; you don't care). Neither Soewhato or www.myminicity.com will blow you away, but if you want to kill an hour on the weekend, it's something to check out.....
Guimp.com is cool and it's pretty straight forward, but it can be a little twisty (I wouldn't suggest investigating the galleries too hard....they're cute for a moment, but after clicking on 3 million little pages in a row, you can easily become bored...).
You may or may not have already known about these sites, but either way, just a heads up.
