You know sweetie, I have found that in all relationships there are fears that hold me back from my love. And it's more intensified in my marriage, of course. I know that I've always wanted to know that he wants me as much as I want him....when that message finally got through to me then I was fine. That took some time and some understanding. I think some of us have an inner sanctum that no one can touch, my husband does for example...and once I realized that I had gotten closer or that he had let me in way more than anyone else in the family or friends, then I also realized that his inability to speak of it was NOT my fault, that it is just him...as a Sagittariuas born in the year of the Rabbit...that's just the way it is. Then I was able to trust so much more and perhaps that is what you are looking for. You may want his approval and acceptance of who you are just the way you are. The way God loves us. No human can do that, ya know, but with absolute love and trust we can come pretty close. Is there any better feeling than that of being wanted? I want you here. I want your opinion, I want your support, I want you to be here. Just because you are who you are, I want you.
Does it get any better than that?

I have to say something here though and I mean no disrespect, only to be heard....
As we cannot ever define you, you couldn't ever define "us" or "we"...I see that sometimes in your writing, and it concerns me. Perhaps only me, and again, no disrespect, because I love you and your writing. I am so excited to hear you are writing your own memoir...I think it will be an enornous hit! Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us.

Oh honey, that's got to be bullshit! I mean, as gross as it is to think about, how in hell could you do that? It's impossible, a skull perhaps, but honestly...I can't see how such a thing is possible! No way, they were messing with the cops, that has to be all it was.

I think the "alcohol awarness" stands for AA, and I hope that doesn't turn him off. He'll have to go until his time is up anyway.
I can see that you love him by the way you have stuck by him, even though at times you think you're the one whose crazy. But, I heard this one time and it has stayed with me...the people with any addictions are "not bad people trying to get good, but rather sick people trying to get well" Oddly enough, we are just as sick, you know? Co-dependency is a real thing, and believe it or not, we need just as much help as the alcoholic him/herself. Perhaps some books or ala-non for you, too.
Godspeed sister...this is a tough one.

I have found my love...and in your own eyes he would be the perfect man, at least for me. After many, many years of hard work individualy and together, we have come to that very special place where I know and he knows that the one and only who dwells in our hearts is indeed eachother. My fears are gone, replaced by love.
Sorry, I'm kinda blogging in your comment column here! I am not "lucky", we have earned this....you have to.
