There we were, another day with nothing to do. We were all over at Laura’s house and we didn’t want to swim or watch, “Selena,” again we had to get out of the house and do something. So, we took off on our bikes and went around the block; we started down Crestview and made our way to Yates which would of turned into State, the street that we all lived on, but we found our way of having fun.
The old scary man wasn’t home and for years we had wondered what his life was like and if his wife and kids where really buried in his back yard. We looked in all his cars to be sure that he wasn’t looking through any of the peep holes in his windows. He wasn’t! We never even thought about looking to see if he was in his house, because he wasn’t ever in there, he just hung himself in his garage or looked through one of his cars peep holes, his cars were all the same just different colors! So, we dared each other to search different areas of his yard and we didn’t find anything!
We all talked and since, I was the stupid, “It’s a double dog dare I have to do it,” kind of person. They all dared me to go into his house and search to see if I found anyone that was dead.
Unfortunately, to this day we don’t know if there is anyone dead in his house because as soon as I opened the sliding glass door, which was unlocked, they seen his car on top of the hill right before he would of turned onto Yates. We took off fast on our bikes and went to my house huffing and puffing. We looked out my window and he drove by like seven times before we didn’t see his car anymore. We never ever did that again.
