I spent some of my day yesterday going through quotes I have gathered, poems I have written as well as read, and a Japanese poem I have saved, finding it after my father’s death. All sentimental, all having some personal meaning to me.
I looked through these various items and realized I sometimes like to live in the past. I have a lot of wonderful memories from my past as well as painful, but I like to relive them all from time to time to remind me how far I have come and in what direction I would like to keep going.
“The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one.”
I like this quote. It reminds me of how human we really are. Always worried about making a mistake...as if when we do, that will somehow cause us pain. Not all mistakes are bad...actually it is through mistakes we learn about life...it is the knowledge we have gained from these mistakes that we pass down to our children to hopefully help them avoid the same ones.
Mistakes are what has helped to mature us..to understand the world around us. We need to let our children make mistakes so they can learn and grow. Mistakes are lessons....life’s lessons...without making a mistake we cannot learn. I have made many mistakes in my life, both big and small, but through it all, I have learned. It has taught me to be who and what I am. I hope I haven’t made my last mistake....although this could be a mistake just posting this thought! |

I like that saying, i don't believe in regrets, i too look back at bad times and remind myself that i survived and it encourages me to keep going and never give up.
nice post, no mistake :)

At one point I harranging my kids to learn from MY mistakes (dammit!), but as I evolved, it dawned on me that they are WAY smarter than I am (just ask them!). I think they wanted to make MY mistakes themselves because um....well, let um! It's the only way they'll figure out that I'M the smarter one! HAH!
